2003.5 Blazing Yellow MSP
Hi everyone.
I have a 2003.5 MSP with ~70,000 miles on it. I have had some oil on my turbo the past few months. I took it to Mazda and they told me I need a new turbo. I remember a few years ago I had an o-ring replaced on one of the oil lines due to a leak, under warranty. I was just wondering how I can know for sure if the oil leak this time is due the turbo going bad or if its simply an oil line problem again.

Thanks

The o-ring is on the return line. I replaced mine recently. By oil on the turbo what do you mean? Is it seeping from the sides, intercooler pipes?

I think the best way is to show a picture. Is the oil return line on the top or bottom of the turbo?

What is there to fix? A little oil residue isn't going to hurt anything. You can try to tighten the line but a new one likely will still seep a little oil.
These cars have enough real problems to be concerned about, don't waste your time worrying about something that doesn't matter.
