Oil on garage floor

I had this problem but they fixed it the day I took it in. Reading about all these probs makes me feel better about the ones that work on my car.

My CX-7 has 13,500 miles on it. I just put snows on my car. The back tires were worse then the fronts. I'm assuming maybe the dealer rotated the tires at some point.

my rear tires are showing very strange wear even though I have rotated every 5,000 miles. I am very frustrated with this and also wondering why they didn't tell me my tires were starting to wear in a bad way. Maintenance.....humm..isn't the root word maintain? Do they not understand?!

I don't particularly care for most dealership service centers, including the one I am using at the dealer I bought the car from. They never do all their checks on fluids, tires, etc... YOU need to do this as a vehicle owner. Yes they SHOULD be doing it, but are you going to trust your investment, comfort, and sometimes safety on someone making $14/hr checking everything they are supposed to check? I know I'm not. I just took the car there for an oil change with 10k miles on it because I was in a hurry and didn't want to do it myself... they wanted to do their 10000 mile service and charge me some ridiculous amount of money. I told them no just do the oil change for $32.

In regards to the tires... those tires with the balk spots look like they could have been overinflated since the wear is limited to the center of the tire. But then again those stock tires are known to suck. I replaced mine at 3000 miles because of it (& bought 20's).

Major Issue

You've probably already seen it, but if you haven't, check out my post under Front Differential Replacement.

Have had my transfer case replaced once for leak, removed again for new oil seals, and now being replaced for internal damage. This is the third time.
Lemon Law Claim Filed on this.

This is a major issue. Transfer case not reliable. Even when the new one gets put in, I cannot trust it any more. Goes out about every 4000 to 6000 miles.

I think they just built a weak transfer case that cannot hold up to the torque being applied by the turbo.

Like I have read in another post, this is my first Mazda and will be my last.

Well as I started this posting I guess I should post the final out come of my wifes car problem.
It took 20 days for the car to come back from the dealer. Recieved a check from Mazda to cover the rental car and they are also paying for 1/2 of the months car payment.

An update to my problem.
No reoccurrence of the oil leak but now the tire are toast with 14k on the odometer.

The wife took the car back in to a diffrent dealer as the original Mazda dealer closed up shop and was taken over by the local Ford place in town. They did an inspection and found out that during the reassembly of the front end the alignment was knocked out causing the premature tire wear.
A set of new tires are going to be installed (no cost) on Wednesday.
