Oil in intake - help me troubleshoot

I am getting some oil in my intake through the crank->intake breather hose. I am FAIRLY certain this has been going on awhile. When I would remove my stock TMIC back in the day there would be a little bit of oil on the hotside... once I found oil in my intake I figured this must be where it was coming from all along. Anyways, its a good bit of oil. Keep in mind I do have something like 25k+ miles on this intake, so this is all that has built up over that time. It's still a lot.

Some people thought maybe the stock PCV valve was clogged or something and forcing stuff up through the valve cover and through the breather. I recently installed an Oil catch can though to the PCV system and it fills up fairly quickly with lots of nasty stuff... so it seems to be working as far as I can tell. Is it even possible to access and remove the PCV valve without taking off the valve cover? if I was going to check it out.

I just ordered another catch can to hook up to the intake because regardless I don't want this crap getting into there. But I need to find the root of the problem. Just looking for help, advice, wisdom, anything. I really don't really have that much experience with cars in general. This is the first car I've ever really cared or known much about. Thanks.

is it a cheap oil catch can because the factory recirculates the vented oil into the intake to cut down on emissions or something like that and its obviously gonna be worse in a boosted car but correct me if I am wrong or this is not what you are talking about.

sorry I just got off work i didnt read correctly why do you want to remove the pcv valve? How fast is the catch can filling up? are you losing alot of oil between changes?

I had the same oil in intake/ pcv/ valve cover gasket problem in my jag xjr. Does your car buck at all under hard acceleration? If so it is probably a similar problem to what I had with my jag. It was supposed to be caused by the piston sleves wearing down. I could not afford the fix, and traded the car in for the speed.

Aaron check to see what kind of oil pressure your motor is putting out, cuz that seems to happen if your oil level is high and it needs to "bleed" pressure in the heads, that's the first and formost reason for it, IMO

Aaron, how did you plumb in that OCC; the PCV is located by the intake manifold. And when you install an OCC, you need to add another stock PCV to avoid pressurizing the OCC.

Usually my oil tends to be a little low (its going into the catch can and intake!!), so i dont think its overfilled

the OCC i have installed now is in the pcv system. i bought another pcv valve...some napa one, not another OEM pcv to keep the can from being pressurized. PM me autox or something I have a lot of pics of the install and stuff and I can get you the exact part numbers and whatnot

I am just doing the catch can on the breather hose. Its not exactly fixing the issue, but it will at least keep oil from getting into the intake tract. I found some oil in the fmic pipes..little more than I would like :(

a little oil in the intake is normal, especially in a turbo car...from that picture it looks fine.

I think that is way too much oil in his intake. I took my SRI off to install my RPMC turbo inlet after about 7,000 miles and my intake was dry as a bone. Absolutely no oil in the intake. Remember, all that s*** is going into his turbo and sticking to the blades.
