Castrol synthetic blend. Blends both mineral and Synthetic oil
Shazam!!!!

i was thinking of a blend... but i dont think my mazda dealer will install it in my car, and they give me free oil changes with the purchase of a filter, rthey said i could being any non-synth oil i wanted if i did want mobil because thats what they use in the garage. i acutally contemplated doing the old label switch-a-roo and bring in a bottle of mobil1 syn witha different label... i am a trickser!!!

Castrol is good oil, and I am sure the quality is the same with their synthetic.

Mobil 1 is standard issue in every new Porsche, Mercedes Benz, Z06 Corvette, and a few others. That says alot.

I do not understand that statement...... I have talked to several WRX owners as well, and they are using Synthetic (Mobil 1).

well..conventional oil is break in oil...you should never..ever use synthetic until your engine has been broken in..

I switched over to Mobil 1 @ 2,000 miles.

After I bought my '93 Talon Turbo w/33,000 I switched it over to Mobile 1 and had some nasty black smoke for a day or two then everything smoothed out and ran great. Then shortly after that I bought my Stealth Twin Turbo and switched it over to Mobile 1 with 45,000 miles I had no probs. (running 19psi at times). I really think with all the hell those cars got from me the Moblie 1 saved them from meltdown. Oh what fun the AWD turbo's is...

sorry for digging this post back up... first oil change coming soon... dont wanan mess up...

So let's get this straight... first oil change... any synthetic not recommended... after that... synthetic all the way... right? :)

Mobil 1 is possibly the best, but I'm sure Castrol Synthetic is right there. And, there is also Redline Synthetic. I have heard it is quite good, as well.

1500 miles changed oil to redline synthetic and trans fluid was changed to redline 75w90 synthetic. also dumped a bottle of waterwetter to keep the water pump and turbo happy. car runs better than stock, and may I add, I whip the sh!t out of it it loves it
