I rolled over to 10,000 miles a couple days ago and need to get the oil changed soooooo, what do you guys recommend? and also what else should i get done at this point in time? in the manual it said that the chasis and suspension should be lubricated as needed. should i go ahead and do this (a:how hard is it. b:what do i use to do it and where). Btw my front springs are teh sqeaking when they be cold so would the lube fix that or is this just perfectly normal? any help is appreciated.

You haven't changed your oil yet at 10k miles? This should be your first priority! I use Mobil1 Synthetic. Works really well for me.
Regarding the chassis and suspension lubricating, I dunno about that... but I do know that the squeaking from the front is normal. My car does that, too, when it's cold. It's the front lower strut tie bar bushing that's causing the squeak. Nothing serious. Just kind of annoying in the cold, that's all.

when i bought the car it had 7500 miles on it and already had 3 or 4 oil changes. and thanks for the advice.

I use mobil one synthetic as well... Nothing is better.

I use 10w-30 in the summer, and 5w-30 in the winter.

Also, GET THE '02-'03 WRX Oil Filter!!! It fits on perfectly, and takes the oil amount allmost even to 4 qts exactly. The stock filter was made for a non-turbo fs-de, and doesnt have enough filtering capacity IMO. The wrx filter is allmost twice as big, and they make a mobil-1 synthetic specific filter as well, which they dont do for the mazda.

More filtering is a good thing on these cars! Dont skimp on the oil and filter...

Huh. that's a new one on me. Personally, I use Mobile 1 10-w-30 and a mzda oem filter.

i usually use Mobil 1 5w-30 and a mobil one oil filter, but this last change i used Royal purple 5w-30
