Official Rays Wheels Thread!!!!!!

what's the difference between the Volk LE-37t and the Volk Racing TE-37?
I know the TE-37 weigh only 15.75lbs.
LE37's come with a polished lip, as the TE37's don't.

Plus the LE37's come with center caps and the TE's don't. The center caps cost $40 a piece to buy them separately. They're not cheap plastic caps like most wheels, they're machined aluminum with a VR logo in the center.

I got my LE's for $1950 out the door. They're 17's not 18's, so 18's are more.

Significance and value of the "LE"

Here's the breakdown gents:

LE signifies their "limited edition" line. For the most part this implies a machined lip as well as includes centercaps as well as the "custom" color being Gunmetal or something else.

The TE37 standard colors are white and bronze. Any other color is addt'l $30.00 per wheel. Centercaps for the TE's retail at about $25.00/cap. If you add those two together it's an addt'l $220.00 total over the standard TE37 price and you do not receive the polished lip.

Now for the value minded:
LE's include all of the above at no additional cost. The retail is slightly more but will still be a better value than the TE37. I do believe the LE is slightly heavier as I believe they have used more coats of paint on them and have set them up still for performance but more towards the aesthetic range. We're talking miniscule difference in weight.

Retail:

18,7.5"

LE - $650.00 each
TE - $620.00 each

Measly $30.00 each in difference. Yet if you customized the TE it would be about $55.00 difference.

WEll guys, there's the breakdown on value incentives for the LE's.

FYI, The GL57"F" Pro is no longer available to the US market as a Ray's wheel. It has been acquired by RO_JA. Therefore I guess I have a limited edition US production wheel from Ray's. hehe.

Peace out guys,

Rishie

I'll be around a lot more now. Took a good 8 month hiatus to get the shop really going for importship.

Good info. Rishie. However, I am confused about one thing. Doesn't RO_JA belong to Motegi which in turn belongs to American Racing? Or is that just a case of one wheel company manufacturing wheels for another company for one specific market?

ACtually RO_JA belongs to RJ DeVera. He has provided exclusive rights to American racing for distribution purposes. Kind of AR's high end line I guess you could say.

When we were in Japan for Auto Salon I had the privelege of shooting the s*** with RJ while at the Veilside booth. He told me they were getting some new wheels for the lineup but no details.

Many of the companies out there now just private label, based on qty purchases. Wheelmax Exel wheels are just rebadged combinations of other wheels with slightly different offsets, etc...

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Rishie

I see said the blind man. That clears things up and makes a lot of sense. Thanks Rishie.

Updates??? I miss her :(

Yeah, Volks have always been the most plain wheels, but the best looking. They are just so clean and just bad ass. Better think twice before running against a ride with Volks.

They make your car look serious.

I am dumping all my money into the engine and turbo so I needed some really nice wheels at a good price. I do love my Rota Attacks. They are pretty light and well priced - Auto RND of course.

If I get sponsored I will get some Volks maybe.

Wow...thread back from dead. Cool! I just ordered mine.
