hmm, bodog is great for betting on dogs... they give a lot of incentive... never bet the favorite there... favorites you can take with pinnacle or a local guy...
in any case, this is a very tough game... the pats cant do any better as far as seeding even if they win, so i dont know what kind of motivation they may have... tenesse and vince young have won 6 in a row and they are on a roll. Basically, bookies are saying this game is an even match, the 3points going only because of home field advantage... which i think it may be accurate...
if i were a betting man (which i am) i would tease this game with another to get another 6 points my way... something like:

New Orleans (3 point dog) and the pats (3 point dog).
If you Tease them, then you get them at:
Saints 9 point dog, and pats 9 point dog. I dont see either the saints or pats losing by 9 points to Carolina and Tennesse respectively...

guess I shoulda figured out how teasers worked....

I was up 300 from bodog blackjack a couple days ago....I bet some on a stupid 8 game parlay or something, lost about 170 in blackjack later and put the other 125 on the pats to cover (even money) before I lost it in blackjack too :)

I figured NE was an underdog since they have "nothing to play for" but I think they will still play hard. Its not like they are the chargers and have been hitting on all cylinders all season, I am betting they work hard as hell this week to get in a confidence building offensive performance at tennesee before the playoffs. Another thing is harrison just returned to the lineup last week (wooohoo! he is soo key) so I think their defense will be playing hard as they adjust to having him back and he whips them youngens into shape.

I never bet on the spread in pats games because they are always favored, I have confidence in them winning but not neccesarily by any more than 1 point, and I wont bet against them. This is a nice opportunity...

A teaser (or a "two-team teaser") is a type of gambling bet that allows the bettor to combine his bets on two different games. The bettor can adjust the point spreads for the two games, but realizes a lower return on the bets in the event of a win.

A teaser is a type of wager used in sports betting most commonly in basketball and football. This wager is a multi-team wager, allowing the bettor to choose a minimum of two teams up to, in some cases, 15 teams. The bettor will get points on his favor to add or subtract to the teams chosen to improve the point spread chosen.

There are two types of teasers known. The first kind, known as a "Super Teaser", "Special Teaser", "Big Teaser", "Monster Teaser", allows the bettor to choose 3, 4 and in some cases 5 teams, and gives a larger number of points to add or subtract to the spread of the selections chosen. In return the bettor will receive less money than the one risked in the bet.

The second type of teaser, known as a "Vegas Teaser", or simply a "Teaser", is more of a combination between a parlay and the first teaser explained. In this case the bettor will receive a fewer amount of points to adjust the spread of the selections chosen, but the more teams chosen in the wager (from 2 to 15 in some cases), the higher the payout will be.

hey slug, if you are a big pats fan and like to put a little wager on their game to add a little excitement then you should look into teasers; because of the unpredictable nature of the pats, they are usually in very small spreads, and so they are very good for teasing; especially because you are right when you say you know they'll win, but you dont know if they will scrape a 1 pointer.
Do not for the life of you tease the colts though; i got burned big time this season when they should have locked a win by more than 7 (Tennesse, houston)
If any, a very nice game this weekend to play would be the J-E-T-S. No way they lose to oakland at home to miss out on the playoffs; they already messed up by losing to the bills, so this is a must win. The spread i believe is 11 right now, and you would move it to 5. So a 2 field goal or a 1 TD diff is not far fetched; even with the top5 ranked defense from oakland.

i just did the office pool for this week and the jets-oakland was a pick em?!

unfortunately teasers conflict with my preference for agressive (read stupid) bets....such as large parlays. Bet 5 to win 500, that sort of thing. I hit a couple bet 5 to win 250 or so parlays this season and missed a bet 5 to win 1800 parlay by 1 point in one game (cincy cleveland) way back at the beginning of the season. I usually avoid betting on the pats altogether.

smart man avoifing the pats, they will win a lot of the times, but they rarely cover; especially when spreads are high on their favor.
i hear you on the aggressive bets, those are my favorites 2. I usually likte to play 3 team parlays (6 to 1) and i have hit quite a few this year.
And the pats made me bank this week.
I think i am going big on them to beat the jets next week.

i won that bet this weekend...im thinking of betting big on the jets to cover next weekend....

Jets are a good team with a decent shot at winning that game IMO...and the spread is 9....seems like a lot to me

yeah that aint good. We are definitely gonna need him to stop leo washington. I havent checked the spread yet, but 9 points is a lot for this game; but again with the pats you neverknow. they could easily blow them out of the water forcing pennington to 3 turnovers, a bunch of sacks and 3 and outs. With maroney and dillon a TD or 2 each and brady with 25 rushing yards and 2 TDs. You never know.
If anything i would tease it the pats way, so it is only -3. Yeah the jets have a chance, but i'll stick ot the pats to win it even if it is on overtime.

SONOFAWHORE.......

he is SO critical to our defense. damnit. The onyl reason I think it was a dirty play is because harrison was trash talking after taking wade down on the previous play....seemed like wade was trying to "shut him up".....sonofabeesting

ooooh i like it man. Thats a nice bet, chances are they will cover. I wouldnt be surprised the chiefs take it home. a Moneyline bet on the chiefs wouldnt be too bad. Prob paying something close to 2.5 to 1, the same as the parlay.

I would even risk it and tease philly and dallas. -7 and +3 respectively.
There are some good lines out there right now. The KC line i have it at 6.5. Gotta take it early before people dump all their money on KC.

yea....i dont know how other places are but bodog doesnt let you bet the moneyline until like the day of the game....lame-o

I think I like seattle to cover....they have that long trip up to the northwest thing going in their favor, the boys have been terrible lately....the LIONS AT HOME?! with the NFC east on the line? WEAK.

and yea, im likin phili over the G-Men in impressive fashion. Is strahan even going to play?

nope strahan is on injured reserve so he is done for the season.
Yeah, that is lame but on the other hand bodog gives the best odds for betting on the dog so you are getting a little edge on the line already, and they dont want the moneyline to be abused.
they are also missing shockey i believe. that is big as well. i am pretty confident on philly handing their ass back to them.
seattle cannot tackle and if julius jones has a big day then the boys take it home, cause that will allow romo , to and glenn to make big plays. I actually think it is a favorable matchup for dallas. Seattle cant stop the run, and they depend highly on the big passing play, which although dallas has a weak secondary, they can definitely rush the passer. I would take Ware to have an interception.

i just checked the line, and the pats moved to -8.5. I really like a pats -8.5 teased to -2.5 with philly -7 teased to -1. i'll put a couple of bills on that..
i also like the over on the pats game. 37.5. Although they played close low scoring games during the season, i think this will be an offensive game.

One think you should look into if you are going to play the dog, is to play first halves. I have been hitting a lot of them by taking the dog. You have to ways to win, they either cover or they win the half out right. A lot of value on the parlay as well with either the uder or over.
