Official: ATx -> MTx conversion

seriously... i'm scared of that one.. i have a big mouth.

so i've already started out with the how-to. it'll take me about 2-3 days to write it up, and get all the parts.
the parts list is the longest part, as well as an explanation of why (cuz people question everything)

i only have one question. is the manual ecu required if i already have an F10?

phew!! I am glad it's fixed. Now the moral is not to mix ATX parts with MTX parts.

It was just the ******* Shaft...

We Re-Used the ATX Shaft on the Right side because the MTX Boot was fuxcked and the shafts looked the same. The Tranny guy simply swapped boots and now it has the proper MTX Shaft and works fine!

$150.00 Out the Door with a Tow to the shop included...

gimpo2.. yes it is..
but at $100, it's really not a big deal... you can expect to spend over us$1000 on this conversion, and about 25 hours of labour.

thats $1000 on parts right? i pretty much getting anything i want out of a wrecked MP3 for $450 minus the axles

round trip to dallas > cdn$600 = us$475 :)
to find a deal, it'd be like $400 to fly someone down from Ottawa :)

hahaha i already looked, hotwire had $360 for they're lowest price. oh yeah i need a clutch too -_- that still beats what i had in mind wheni first had this swap in mind over a year ago. i think $2k - $2.5k was what i was willing to spend. looks like i'll be at half that :)

my s*** was almost brand new that i got from the guy in MTL.
Qidan is kickass, btw...

but yeah.. everything in my tranny is stock.. i'm going to get a better clutch in a month or 2.. Spec Stage 1, i think

car is working and ready to be picked up.
:)

I thank Brian and Mac's Transmission for their work on the last bits... Car went around the block from Mac's Transmissions, no problems... although the speedo doesn't work.

i'm looking at the service manual and the wiring pics that Shane posted up, and it looks like it should be part of the harness.. but I can't find it on the harness that I have... so I'm gonna go over it again tonight and check out all the connections.. I also want to check out the reverse light plug.. i don't remember if I plugged that in :P

Soo all in all was the swap worth it? or was it more work than you thought it would be? Just curious as to what your thoughts are on this.

yeah.. i know what the connector looks like... it's the wire tha connects to that clip that i can't find.... i'm at a loss for now.. but i'll figure it out in the upcoming days.
