Official ARSCCA Pts 1 Thread

on 372 i was hydroplaning all over the place. just huge puddles, im glad no one else was on the road at the time i was hitting those puddles

We saw you driving along 285 plowing water out of the road...

Glad you made it home safe. I think we saw about 6 wrecks, one really bad one...

Yeah, between the rain, old azenis, and fogged up interior I was being REALLY careful.

I got to Powers Ferry Rd and head off to my folks to wait out the rain.

Wow i was looking at the prelim results, 179 registered and 161 w/ times, thats awsome.

Congrats to Kevin on only having the slowest time of the day next to a shifter cart (the fast one).

Great course and lot, even though the surface is leaving a little to be desired, specially after that gapping pothole opened up on those offset gates after the last salom.
So do I get a sticker or anything. (RTM)

I had an absolute blast today! Thanks to JA and Andrew for the ride-a-longs!! And congrats to Michael for a great first day!!

I can't wait until the next event!!!

I actually fared a lot better than I thought I would. Took it pretty easy and never had any traction issues to speak of even with the shaved azenis. I'm just really really glad that we didn't have any *serious* weather. I left pretty much right as the tornado sirens went off.

Brian, I take it you don't have A/C in there? I find that turning on the 'defrost' mode for the fans and cracking the windows a couple inches on mine works pretty effectively on the interstate when it's raining. The only time I got a few drops on me was when we ground to a halt after the 75/85 split for an accident.

Well, as the results show, I've got a bunch of setup work to do, both on myself and on the car. It had some 'odd' handling characteristics today. If it'll make it up, Korey's going to throw it on the alignment rack tomorrow to see what's up.

Nope, no a/c.

I was getting soaked with the window cracked on the driver's side so I cracked the passenger side. helped for a little while.

Did you drive intown and then up? I took 285 all the way around, wasn't gonna mess with the idiots downtown.

weird, I barely got wet at all doing that.

But yea, we did 20 => 75/85 => 85. It really wasn't bad at all. The only thing I've noticed is the new asphalt around Steve Reynolds / Pleasant Hill and up for the new 316 interchange has the shittiest drainage ever. Everything was great until I got there. It wasn't *bad* there, but the road looked like it was just a sheet of water (as opposed to most places where you at least see the texture of the pavement).

Holy awsome event, batman. I do like me some throttle courses.

My ass was wet from the leaky top on the drive to dinner and home....not a pleasant experience. That was some crazy rain on the drive. The tornado sirens added a rather nice effect to the end of the event too.

Congrats, Scott, on the 2nd place in CSP! We can take this thing home! Just watch that right side track and modulate those brakes!! ;).

Booooo!

Todd/Steve, if there's anything I can do to help with car setup, let me know (I say this with no ill will or trash-talk implied).

Great pics as always, William. Many thanks!! :)

Oh yeah, Silver P5's do indeed look sexy on course! Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to speak with the driver.

So close to lifting wheel (cabpatch)

Great set William. Time for me to make a new sig :)

I think we may take you up on that. Hopefully, by the TnT it'll be a brand new car with new wheels/tires, ground controls, an LSD, and an alignment and corner balancing, but I think we're going to have some sorting out to do that Saturday. I think we'll be very open to opinions.

It couldn't possibly feel worse than it did today, but I still had a ton of fun. It's always an adventure fighting both understeer and a squirrelly rear-end--it won't make for fast times, but it will put a smile on your face.

Understeering into a corner only to have the car snap out on you is alway frustrating. However, if you're on inexpensive tires and the car loops, be sure to stay in the throttle in order to please both the crowd and driver :).

I managed not to loop it today, but Steve did, and I tried to tell him to stay on it, but I don't think he got what I meant. We shouldn't be on inexpensive tires the next time, though.

I'm a bit disapointed in my performance, but the car did exceptionally, considering it was it's first time out, read: no tune AT ALL. Barry managed to pull off 10th in STS. I think once we get a good tune on it, he'll be a force to be reckoned with in that car in STS.
