a low rent chevy? (somewhat redundant) dude... what you been smokin? it's obviously no lexus but, and I hate to say this, the interior is far better quality than our msp. Have you actually been in an 05 wrx? Seriously, while it might not win any awards, the interior is actually quite nice. very tight... no nvh issues like our cars. also, since when did low rent chevys come with automatic climate control, momo steering wheels and easily one of the best set of bucket seats around?
as for the rest of the car... the more you guys say it sucks the more I like it. I went to my local subaru dealership to see one in person (rs model) and am definitely diggin the new look. IT'S DIFFERENT!! Jesus H Christ you guys... for a bunch of msp drivin non-comformists you sure come across as the types that just like things to stay the same. sometimes change for the sake of change is a good thing. Besides, it's not like the current look is anything great. you can't even really call what they've got on it now a grill. it's more like a couple holes they gouged into the front end. it only looks "good" because it came after the love it or hate it styling of the bug eyes. since most people seemed to hate that look the more conservative look of the 04-05 was a welcome change. while it may not be something people instantly fall in love with, at least it's got some personality to it. the fact that the new look is causing such a stir, believe it or not, is probably great news for subaru. as the saying goes, bad publicity is better than no publicity. like many cars that came before it and many that will come afterwards, as these cars start poppin up around town the look will begin to grow on those who dont' like it now.
as for the tribeca... call me crazy but I dig that too. subaru's always been known for being a bit quirky in their approach. the buy eyed wrx was really the first time they showed any balls in the styling dept since the svx and wedge shaped (can't remember the name) car of the early 90s. every other car they've produced have been about as bland as any other car on the road. to me, it's nice to see a them mixin things up a bit. while the new look is far from perfect, IMO, it's a step in the right direction.
