OEM TPMS sensors on 18x8 Rota Torques

Here's the problem guys.

A few days ago I got some 18x8 Rota Torques for my MS3 and went to get them installed in a local shop. While they were switching my stock tires and TPMS sensors to the new wheels they called me in the back. I was shown how the TPMS sensors don't lie flat and was told it was impossible to install them like that because it was illegal. I was also told I need some special TPMS valve stem holders in order to make them fit to my wheels that I would have to pay extra for. So, I am not sure about this whole thing, and my new wheels are still laying around in the boxes...:(
What is that all about, I thought these wheels were a perfect fit for this car?
Would anyone share some knowledge about this? If any of you happen to have this set up it would be great to hear how yours worked out?
Any advice or info is appreciated.

i mounted my stock TPMS on my torques. yes they dont sit flat but i dunno how that could be illegal. i'm just going to have to be careful with taking off the tires.

turtleman321, did you mount them yourself, or did a shop did it for you?
I just spoke to these guys in the shop and was told the stem holders I need are on back order. Also they won't mount the wheels without these.

Anyone else having any input?

mine sit just fine on my torques. What you need is an experienced tech to do your work. The guy that did mine was real meticulous about it and made sure it was perfect. I have had them on for about 10k miles ith no issues. Mine are 18 x 8 as well, with a +35 offset(not that it matters). Good luck and let me know how it pans out for you.

Well I plan to get the rota torques myself and get em installed my discount tires..I really dont want to run into any prablems. How many of the rota wheels owners had prablems with the install???

I had tires mounted on my 18x8 P1s at Discount Tire and the only issue I had with TPMS was the stem seals not sealing quite right and developing slow leaks over time on a couple wheels. No problems with the physical mounting of the sensors.

I finally got them installed yesterday. I went to the dealership that I service my car in, and they mounted them without a problem. The TPMS were installed on my new wheels as well.
I guess STRICK was correct, experience means a lot.

Thanks everyone for the input.
