OEM RS-A's....Good in winter or not? seriously...

the manager at the local goodyear shop told me that his eagle rs-a's were perfectly fine for driving to tahoe...despite his every incentive to try to sell me some new tires, so I have to somewhat believe him...

of course, he had them on a AWD audi, but if I load my 3 down i can add some weight to it....plus it hasn't been snowing much recently...

so whats the deal? anyone have any serious issues driving occasionally on slippery conditions with the stock tires?

depends on your weather... i live in maine, and i drove with them last winter, only once in a while, b/c they were that bad.... i was afraid of ruining my car so i left it parked as much as i could... i have bought some studded snows for this winter. if you don't drive it in to much snow i would say it will prob be fine just use caution, if you plan on doing driving in more then a couple of inches more then a couple of times a year, i would suggest saving some aggrevation and get some dedicated snows...

eagle rs-as are terrible tires. every person i've asked from tire techs to friends to my own expierence with them on 2 different cars. don't buy them. also as soon as it snows you mine as well just run racing slicks. because thats about how well they grip.

I have them on my car - and they blow - starting from a stop is TERRIBLE. Stopping is even worse. If your in a climate that needs winter tires, do yourself a favor and buy some.
