Oem Fs Pistons & Rods Compared To Forged

Hey i found these pics browsing around and was shocked to see how wimpy the FS pistons & rods look compared to some forged ones.In the first pic the oem rod is on the right and in the second pic, well you can figure it out. Im not sure if the forged stuff is for the FS i think its just for comparison from some other motor. Has anyone found any forged pistons & rods for the FS yet? I plan to be force fed soon but have heard the rods and pistons are weak for high boost.

That explains a lot accually. Look at how dinky the stock rods look! Now I really think that is what let go in my motor! I need to go FORGED!!!!!!!!

What do you think of going 8:1 on compression? I figure if you go forged parts on a forced induction engine why not change compression? I know there may pros and cons. I also figured some of you experienced guys could help me hash this out.

what all would you have to do to achieve the lower compression...just get lower compression pistons or would you have to do other things to the engine to make it work??

Well you could lower the compression by lower comp pistons or thicker head gasket or combo of both. On our motors the lower comp pistons are fine. This coupled with a standalone ecu, forged con rods and a beefier headgasket.... 16psi 300-350whp runs should be attainable......however save up them pennies to either upgrade or fortify your tranny with that kind of power.

I really do not think this is necassary however with a stanalone ecu, properly sized turbo, intercooler and a stanalone ecu 250whp can be attained with out cracking open our motors.
