I just purchased a new set of OEM wheel locks from ebay. Upon receiving them, the package listed "Protege (ex. 5-door)" among several other Mazda vehicles. I'm assuming that this is stating that they won't work on the Protege5 for some reason. The taper is the same as my lug nuts as is the thread. They thread on fine and fit fine. Am I misreading this? If the "ex." does mean "excluding", why wouldn't they work on the Protege5?

Just curious. Thanks guys.

as far as I know they work on everything mazda... even my mpv minivan (which I've put them on)

i don't see how it wouldn't fit for the protege5. don't we have the same rotors as the es? maybe ex meant "for example" (shrug)

My point exactly. I was just curious as to the reasoning behind the label. One would imagine that of the entire Protege line, the P5 wouldn't be the best exable.

Anyway, they installed fine. I feel like an idiot asking about such a thing, but wanted to be sure (obviously, it's not documented anywhere). Shoot, they fit on my Miata as well.

Can't you just shoot the seller an e-mail?

I doubt he'd know. Apparently they came with his Protege. I missed the fact when bidding that it stated "Ex. 5-door". I'm not really sweating it though. I paid $10, shipped. hehe

EX. means "For Example." Threading is the same on all Mazdas, to the best of my knowledge.
