Obx & T3/t4 Turbo Set Up Help!!!

yes. I don't know of those manifolds change the position of the turbo but as far as it happens you need to make a new hot-pipe...

cant really think of much else since i've only seen one of these setups in person once..
Hmm i wonder whos that was?

Here is the deal with this setup.

Downpipe was easy to build. You need a different t-stat housing to fit it. Went with SLS. (Awesome product, very fast shipping.) I got a 2.5 U-bend cut at an angle to make it come down to somewhat stock location. Exhaust shop is currently finishing it up.

As far as FMIC. I went with a Vibrant core from PG and bought the piping from ebay. Hardest part of everything was the hotpipe. I used the FMIC How-to as a reference. I ran the piping the same but instead of going up it runs about level with the bottom of the radiator and then turns up. Turbo outlet is turned down and slightly forward to make this work. You cant go up like the normal FMIC would on these cars beacause of the way the external wastegate setup is. The dump tube comes down right in the way.

Also A/C was removed to make everything fit.

I dont have any pics yet but I will get some soon. I have about 1800 miles on the kit so far and very minor issues. IC pipe blew off, easy fit. Zip tied all the vaccuum lines. Wastegate line popped off and boosted to 16psi before I caught it. Lucky I looked at the gauge.

Im running a MSP ECU which runs very rich. It needs EMS bad.
I was kinda weary as far as where the wastegate mounts, but it doesnt spike or creep at all. Hits 9 psi and stays there.

ALL in all. I am happy with it for what I have paid. I have just over 2k into it all. Needs EMS so thats coming soon.
Went to the track Friday night. Best run was a 14.48 @97 with clutch starting to slip. With a new clutch and tune its a very easy 13.

Wanna say thanks to Ken @ PG without him putting up with me. I prolly never would have finished. He was very fast on shipping and always available to answer my questions.

This is the new mani, restrictive, good quality, not stainless.

They changed sides for the wastegate. Looks like the only difference.

So for my mazdaspeed protege I would have to redo my fmic piping for it to fit and the s pipe you say the sls has one thats good?? So looks like Im gonna have to redo the ic pipes and the s pipe??? So you have no a/c in your car???

I have the SPOOL log mani. 10,000Km's and no cracks. Spools like a sonofabitch too... Logs rule, no matter what anyone says.

The SLS piece is a thermostat housing. The stock lower radiator hose comes out in the way so you need that housing and a different hose. Yeah no A/C. The Army has me in Kansas and it doesnt get that hot there, but I am on leave visiting my parents in AZ and its pretty hot.

wHERE can you get that log mani??????

I also have the spool stage 1. Pretty nice fo what I'm running. I have a turbonetics BB t3/4 60 trim to go along with it and it kicks ass! I had the original spool turbo on my samco hot pipe worked out well with the stock POS intercooler. So if you find a kit you may not have to modify much to get things to work with your set up. I would wait on the exhaust until after you see whether or not you will need an custome DP.

Where can I find a kit thats the question lol (boom07)???

Thats how custom job works, patience for downtime (which most people here dont have) and $$.

I can source any custom manifold, tested good for 680whp so far.

yeah , good/great things are done in PR the thing is how much you talking about for ex many ???

I got mine from WES when he was goingto turbo his P5, probably what made him get the MS3. I'd love to see what a manifold that can flow 680hp looks like. I have the time, maybe the money depends how nice that mani is.

What about the turbonetics cast T3 manifold? That'd be a good one for ya.

Hint: It's the Hiboost manifold from the "big boost" kit.

Really? I didn't even know turbonetics made a kit for the car amd I have their catalog.

You can get the Hiboost Bigboost manifold. Its made with a t3 flange and would work with your setup.

A custom made tubular manifold here can cost around 550 to 750. And its made in cast iron. Not a lot of people use stainless steel because in this tropic island, it rains very often and stainless manifolds cracks like eggshells.
