OBD Compact Reader Scan Tool Question

Hello

I am considering purchasing an OBD Code Reader. Does anyone have a recommendation for an inexpensive Code Reader that is compatible with the 2003 Mazda3? My check engine light is not on now but with 102,000 miles I thought this would be a good thing to have. I found this one and it looks like a good price, are they all the same?

Thanks in advance!

There are plenty of options with all sorts of price ranges for what you want. With a cheap one you can pull and erase codes, in any obdII car, but nothing more

As you go up in price you go up in functions. I got a scanner from sears for a little less than $200 that also shows live data on most sensors, and can record data for 30 seconds

When you start getting really expensive you will be able to actuate certain sensors in any vehicle make with obdII, which is very fun if every electronic piece in the car is part of the canbus network

Essentially, if all you want to do is pull and erase codes, get what you want. It should work on any car built 1996 and newer with obdII
