O.E. Tuning's SPN CF hood. Possible GB ?

id really like one that was vented... i like the look of the evo or invader style. nothing too crazy but enough to get some of that hot air out from under the hood

Bijou-MP5 - The CF hoods you have linked us to doesn't look like that in the original mould for the underlay wasn't necessarily designed for structural points similar to the OE hood. Also, the latch looks like it's quite flimsy perhaps even made of FRP itself. For our hoods, they are designed to mimic the stock structural re-inforcements, such that if you're ever in an accident, the energy will dissipate in a similar fashion. Our latch is also very beefy and bolted into place like that of the OE latches. We've incorporated this into the mould so that if lift does occur under the hood, the latch will hold the hood in place. We've seen too many hoods that have lifted at speed due to air been directed under the hood causing lift and latch failure. It is a good idea for extra safety and use hood pins as well. Our hoods are also designed to use the stock nozzles if desired. All the proper reinforcements are there such that you'll only need to drill the holes to place your nozzles there.

 seriously...I have no idea what makes good CF Hood...

im interested, but yah, what about the stock "fit"??? and hows the quality of the latch that your hood has?? can you email me at dumbkeola@hotmail.com with the cost of the best hood you got, im taking that its the 6k spn one? and with a possible shipping price to 96797, in Hawaii. thanks a lot, hope to do business

I would be very interested in a group buy as my hood is scratched and I need to repaint it.

How much does our OEM hood weigh?

Im hoping to purchase a carbon fiber hood, but how much does our stock one weigh opposed to the other carbon fiber hoods out there?

iON Performance

All O.E. Tuning carbon fiber hoods are full structured to OEM spec. Our comapny is based entirely to produce better products than OEM parts.

Full structure OEM underside.

We actually dare to weigh our hoods on a digital scale.

How would a latch be made out of Fiber glass ? Are you kidding?

"For our hoods, they are designed to mimic the stock structural re-inforcements, such that if you're ever in an accident, the energy will dissipate in a similar fashion."

Well would love to see some testing for your comment as you will be the first in the industry to provide energy absorbent carbon fiber hoods. No matter if its fiberglass or carbon fiber ther material does not absorb energy and will shatter upon impact. Metal / Aluminum hoods can fold easily like foil. If you are saying you produce energy abosorbing carbon fiber hoods the industry would love to see it also I'm sure everyone in this forum would love to see it as well.

Again we use aluminum latch with "DRY CARBON" support.

Regarding your V-Pattern, this practice is known in the industry for cost-saving production of less expensive carbon fiber hoods. Since you use smaller carbon fibers to piece them into a one-piece your overall product should be the lower then using a one full sheet of carbon fiber such as O.E. Tuning does in 3K MS or SPN 6k HS.

Also a question would be if you look at the hood from the nose ot the car you will see a V-Shape and if you were to look from the fenders you would then see a Zig-Zag ?

It's good to see competition. our main goals are to provide the best products to the Protege forums.

With the approval of the site owners we are setup for Authorized Vendor status and just got the ok for a CF group buy. Please ne patient for details to follow.
