This isn't my first leather interior, though. I had it in my 01 Acura CL Type S, and loved it. I didn't keep that car long enough to validate the quality of the leather over time, so I'll make a judgement on this car down the road.

The only gripe I can see is no seat heaters (the CLS had them, and they worked great.) I'm thinking of adding them soon. Winter sux!!

So far I love it (as does everyone that see's the car!!) :)

Winter??? what is that? I want seat chillers!! (South Florida NEVER gets cold)

MackDaddy....you traded in a CL type 2 for a p5? What brought about the change...especially if that was a 2001?!? i'm still in the research before buying process...and the p5 looks really good...but i've been checking out the Acura RSX type S....it doesn't have the storage capacity of the p5...but it is a lot of car for 23k. Same with the VW Jetta GLI for 23K....it's a lot of car in a 4 door for under 25.....but then again, i'm a little nervous about the jetta's reliability and i'm not too sure the RSX is all too practical....

I have leather in My P5 and it rocks. I have only had the car now for about 3 months but so far so good. I am with you on the seat heaters would love to have them in the P5. Actually Leather is one of the things that made me buy the P5 over the WRX. Since leather wasn't an option and neither was a sunroof and those were at the top of my list when I was looking for a car. One thing though as I had leather in both my corrado and M3 is that the bolsters will show the wear first. And seat heaters are just one more thing to go wrong. I had them in the corrado and the driver seat went out twice. I am actually kinda hoping the seats in the P5 only last a year or so because I need a good excuse to through some suede and alacantra sparco seats in.

Long story....

I actually had the 01 CLS, then an 02 WRX Wagon, now the P5.

Impulse purchase on the 01 CLS... don't like coupes (I've got a daughter, with lots of friends.) They wouldn't deal on the TLS when I was looking, as if they had I'd still be driving that today (and loving it.)

The 02 WRX Wagon was a blast... untill SOA told me burning 1.25 qts of oil every 3k miles was "within spec." bulls***. Plus fighting with the local SOA rep just plain sucked. No more Subaru's for me, ever.

Is there after market leather available for the P5s? like a kit or something? I remember seeing one on eBay for a Mazda MPV 2000 to 2002...

My leather is so far so good with 2000 miles on it. It's really supple but not loose and it definitely feels better than the cloth. It also looks very good.

Both the Acura RSX Type S and Jetta are very good cars for the money. Although, I would get the RSX before the Jetta. I've owned a VW GTI before and its quality was not that great over the long run. Anyway, both the RSX and GLI will most likely go out the door for $25k - 26k while a fully loaded P5 will probably go OTD for $21k. That's a significant difference in price. Of course you can say, there's a significant difference in engine performance as well.
