Now let's see those white ms3!

lol I'm so lost now whether I want 35% or 20%. I'm definately getting one or the other consistant all around. Up until I saw your pictures I was sure I wanted 20% all around, but that 35% looks perfect even in a sunny day.. Did you have any doubts?

I've always had 35% on my cars. Friends always want me to do 20%, but I just thought it would be just too much contrast. I like 35% on light colored cars because it was a more 'balanced' look. Not too dark, not too light. Now if I was driving a metro grey or mica black car I would do 20% w/o any doubt.

Great combo. I am also looking at H&R coils with RX8 wheels. I've thought about a used set and repainting the wheels a slightly darker silver, but new ones are just over 800. Tough choice.

H&R coils are hard to come by, at least for the speed3 spec spring rates. I had these on my '07 CB speed3. I think they were the 3rd set released in the US. I ordered them from Turner Motorsports, H&R's US distributor. I know for a while that they were on a long backorder, with some waiting about 3-4 months. When the '07 speed3 was totaled (rear-ended by a SUV), I pulled them and stuck them on my '09. Although they aren't dampening adjustable, the ride is pretty good up front but the rear spring rates are rather stiff. I've had Teins before and they were the opposite; stiff up front and the backs were soft.

Rx8 wheels I had back when I was rolling in the Mz3, so they are about 5 years old. I got them for $350 back in '04. I repainted them a darker silver to freshen them up a bit. ;)

i wish my coilovers went that low (sad2)
im not too into the slammed look ( your cars dialed man... (drunk post btw.) hahaha. im throwing 8mm spacers on tomorrow... hmm...

Heh. Those pics were my 10% show/90% go shots. They were taken when I was seeing how low the H&R's could drop. Couldn't do the fronts all the way to max, otherwise I wouldn't be able to pull out of my driveway. ;) I believe the measured drop in the max drop pics were -2.25" front/ -1.875" rear. My daily driver settings are about 1/4" higher all around.

That's such a great shot. The sunlight really highlights the body lines of the car.

Makes me wish I left my side moldings on.

That's probably why the rears feel stiff; there's very little travel between the shock and bump stop. My understanding is that H&R has one of the softest progressive spring set-ups (coilover app) besides the Tein basics. But I'm told the lowest "functional" drop is about -1.75" F and -1.25" R. I don't have them obviously, so I'm going by hear-say.

I'm telling you, the moldings are KEY! Our cars look naked without em..

Everyone keeps buggin me to take my moldings off. I think i'm going to leave em on to spite them.

I've tried explaining that it adds something on an otherwise blank canvas of flat metal. It looks clean on some cars, and cheap on some other cars.

I agree. It think it reduces the visual height of our doors. And add body lines that are otherwise not there.

my MS3 :)

Hey man how did you paint your wheels!! ?? are they powder coated?

Yes on the painted part and no they are not powder coated. I used a flat black spray paint from auto zone that just came out really nice. I really looks like they where powder coated.

just a quick shot of mine. Don't have access to a camera very often so can't go out and take any nice pictures.
