The main benefit from signing up with Mazda Motorsports is the huge discount on stock parts. A first event is too early to start worrying about the contingency awards.

you can join MM when you submit results, but in order to win anything (and it's not much $$), you have to be among the best drivers at national-level events. so it's not really a "sponsorship."

...hence the term, "contingency sponsorship" In terms of it's benefits, the cost on stock parts is rewarding, alone. Dealerships, on average, mark up their prices by a factor of 3, so, the reduced cost on parts is certainly a great advantage.
