Not seeing any boost...

Anyone had this happen to them and might give a little insight as to why?

I've tried to get the car to spool, but it feels like a NA car driving around WOT(1st. 2nd 3rd 4th at various RPM's). No spooling of the turbo, hell i cant even hear it(where before I could). I've not done anything crazy and the car is stock as far as i know(if the problem doesnt resolve itself when i leave work, i'm going to check for things like MBC and leaks). No CEL light, otherwise the car is fine. It is just slowwww.

Any suggestions?

might need to take it to mazda if its still stock and u have a warranty. sounds like your turbo took a dump. you can get a boost gauge and see if its pushing boost at all

You might have a defective waste gate actuator ... definitley have Mazda look at it before you even start thinking about putting on a MBC.

btw, i'm not modifying this thing, i was just thinking that maybe the guy whom had the car before me might have done something to it...

that could be one of the many reasons... but the car does have a mind of its own.

if you still got warranty get ur dealership to check it out before anything gets worse

What's really weird is that there were no CEL's. Could it have been bad gas maybe?

Could have been a number of things. Bad wastegate actuator was my first thought, bad gas, or fuel pump not firing properly. Take it to your dealer and have it looked at, as there are several TSB's out that might relate to that. If they can replicate the issue, it will get fixed.

Haha ... had it open yesterday! No worries, the car's just a door away into the garage.

Anyway, never thought the WGA would have a fuse so that bit of info might help someone down the road.

I would think it would default to venting, as that's a safer failure mode than staying closed. I know I'd rather have my car fail safe rather than blow an engine to overboosting. And, yes, it might still make some boost, but it would only be during spool-up when the wastegate is "overwhelmed" by the amount of air moving through (basically boost creep). I'd also expect it to be running pig rich when on the throttle, which would add to the fail-safe, but also to the lack of power.
