Not Satisfied

TRadein

I ahve an appointment at 3 this thursday to get my car appraised. I found a GSX 300 miles away that has a full body kit plus rims. NO INTERNALS done yet which is perfect. 65k miles and its a 96.. hes asking 11k im asking him to sale for 10k, does that sound fair?

sounds fair, but with the kit etc....you gotta remember he could have ragged the s*** out of it. He problably wanted attention (with kit and all)...could've taken parts off....? Don't think i'm saying this to tell you not to do it. I'm just giving u info to think about. :) I love gsx's but personally we had to work on my friends alot. And he jsut got a new one that blew the turbo, i believe i said that a little earlier....? good luck, and watch what you get if its used...

i hope you have money saved up to spend on parts when s*** starts to go bad, if you were dissapointed in your msp, then you will only have that gsx for maybe 2 months tops.

oh yeah 1 thing you gotta also remember, i dunno who you bank with but sometimes the less the total loan is the less they stretch it out, so your payments for that still could be close to the same, but for less time......? Have you looked into that yet.

A '96...... No bank on the planet will give you a loan on a 9 year old car, sorry pal. Unless you take it out as a personal loan, which is waaaaaaay harder to get. Good luck tho man

USAA offerd me a loan on a 24 year old Landcruiser. The only problem was it was at like 10% intrest. You can get a loan for an older car, but not through the usual means.

I tried to get a loan on a '94 camaro in 2003, and they told me that most banks will only finance cars up to 3-4 years old and with low mileage, and usually for REDICULOUSLY low terms (12-36 months). It's understandable, they are just trying to cover their own asses. Now credit unions are most likely different, and IMHO a much better place to take out loans.

I was loooking very close at the GSX before I bought my MSP. They have alot more potential than the MSP has. You can get them to 300 hp with out too much cash invovled. Depending on the driver 300hp will break stuff. If driven with some common sense they can be a great car. If thashed on they will make you go broke. But isn't that the case with most performace cars.

Yeah they will, at 24% and with a lot of collateral. AND they will only give you the loan value of the car-which is really really low. So look to pay out the ass for interest and have to front a couple thousand.

FYI the KBB RETAIL value (dealer price) is like 8.9K. Private party is 7,340 in excellent condition, 6800 in good condition. The loan value is probably 4-5K.

I know this. The kid is 19. How much collateral does he have? "No bank on the planet will give you (ref: yllowmsp35) a loan on a 9 year old car" because he has no down payment and no collateral.

The thing that really sucks is that people are not willing to pay as much for a car that has been modified, unless it was modified by a reputable aftermarket company. A stock msp will get you more money than one with mods. If you are planning on selling, take your mods off and sell them separately.

Good luck on trade-in... I got an estimate at the Mitsu dealer (was going to trade in on an EVO) and they offered 11K. That's a 2003.5 Gray with 5700 miles.

Best of luck to you on the trade.
