Mazda Protege ES 2.0
Hey what's up? I'm new to this car but not so new to the Mazda community. I'm the proud owner of a '01 Protege ES with some decent mods and just about a week ago I bought a '08 Mazda 3. I, like a real rookie, bought my car wtihout taking it out for a test drive, and last week realized that I think I have a rear blown shock. Feels like i'm just riding on springs in the back. I'll be on the Highway and hit a bump and the ass of the car kicks out a little. I'm covered under the warrenty, but I wanna put aftermarket springs and shocks on my car. On my Protege I went with a Eibach pro line and the 5 way adjustable Illumina Tociko Shocks. I love the ride but what is the best Shock/Spring set up for my 3???I want something sporty and responsive and at least a 1.5" drop. P.S. I'd rather stay away from expensive coil-over sets and I really dont need the set up to be on the spot adjustable.

ok, well budget of good shocks and springs will equal of entry level coilovers..
for example..
koni yellow - 600/650
eibach pro kit = 200
tein s = 200

so we are talking about around 800-850 for a good set up.
Koni yellows are adjustable, dampening only..

entry level coilovers

999.99 BC coilovers
height/dampening/rebound adjustable..
im a happy owner of BC coilovers, they handle awesome, you can maintain stock ride height and have a lot more responsive car because of spring rates front and rear.
you can make the car handle like its on rails with few clicks front and rear....
also if you want a smaller rebound, that could also be achieved.
About slamming the car to the ground...
rear could be done at around 2" from factory height..
front so far i got 2.25" over stock on my car... and i just dont see a reason to go any lower

let me know what you think and if you have any further questions.
ill be more then happy to give you advices.
thanks
