Normal EGT Temps

I have an Aeroforce Interceptor Gauge and the parameter called "Cat Temp B1S1" looks like EGT but the values seemed a little high to me at first.

After a little research, I found out that what i am seeing may be right. Here is what I am seeing:

1300 - 1400 Deg F @ Highway Cruise

1500 - 1600 Deg F @ WOT

I haven't waited for the temps to level out at idle after I was warmed up but the temp drops to between 1100 - 1200 Deg F at a traffic light.

If these seem off, someone please chime in.

Definitely not out of whack for a modern emissions-compliant motor, I don't think. It ain't real "cat temp" of course, there being no sensor in the cat. I think it's primarily O2 temp and load-based calcs deriving this figure. If I'm wrong about that, someone correct me.

Its definitely a calculation but it is weird that it is labeled Cat Temp since it is so obviously the temp before the CAT.

Since the MS3 ECU cannot monitor the actual cat temp (there is no sensor for that) the temperature is inferred.

"Cat Temp" is a standard OBDII PID.
