noob to the awd world, tons of questions

the car was lowered by the previous owner and the tires arent all that great ill take a look at themtomorrow and see what kind they are, where is the tcs control at? i know where the dsi or dsc whatever the button is but is there something u cando to change the tcs? im sorry for being such a newb guys but this car confusing the hell out of me!!

The DSC off button controls both DSC and TCS. You get all or nothing with the nannies.

Oh and when you go to the dealer don't mention anything about racing @ the track.

i got another addition to the mystery, told i floored it in 2nd at about 3k and the front tires started spinning, now if that isnt weird for an awd car idk wtf is!

Is the 4WD light on on the dash?

sounds like your rear differential is busted or the transfer case and it isn't going into AWD mode. i'd take it to the dealer. also check to make sure your e-brake is ok, because if it is 1 click up it will dissengage the rear.

brilliant......didn't even think of that. that would explain some of this and wouldn't turn on the 4wd light in the dash, I think.

There's still a lot that doesn't add up. Hopefully the OP will answer some of the other questions that other members have asked so that we can figure this out or guide him in the right direction.

no i am sure that the ebrake is not engaged and also the awd light does come on as soon as i floor it and the tires start spinning, that is the only time it comes on it doesnt ccome any other time, i am going to sqweeze it into the dealer this week sometime, i think there is definetly something wrong with the awd system, because it really shudnt be doing this...

You're still not answering the questions.

Right now we still don't know which tires you have on it, what the tread depth is on each tire, etc.

You won't get an AWD/4WD light when you spin the tires, you'll see the TCS light (car w/ burnout marks) instead. You need to take it to a dealer and be done with it.

if the awd light comes on when you floor it there could be something worn in the transfer case or rear differential that when under lots of torque slips and doesn't engage the rear.

It's like this:

You post asking for help and everyone gives you suggestions/input to your situation, then you don't follow and just keep going on about the problem. If you can't identify things yourself based on the info here, then it needs to go to the dealer. If you continue to attack members for trying to help, then this will get locked and infractions will be handed out.

i am trying to answer questions but whenever i do people seem not to believe me, when i said my awd light comes on when i floor it and the tires spin people didnt believe me they said "ur tcs light would come on, well i havent even seen the tcs light at all yet" the car is going to the dealership this week, i just thought i would ask you guys to see if maybe you knew what the deal is but i guess im not answering the questions correctly

could be any number of things, but most likely its not working right and you should take it to go to the dealer. might have to replace your transfer case or rear differential.
