2003.5 Mazdaspeed protege (silver)
Hello all, Im new to the forums...Got my Silver MSP a few months ago and Im thoroughly enjoying it. I happen to live in a good location as Im just around the corner from the protege garage. So far my Car just has a few mods (Injen CAI, AWR side mount inserts, Carbon fiber tails, Prosport boost gauge, vibrant exhaust and medieval front and rear mounts are in the mail and protege garage manifold is waiting to go in). I normally dont join forums but I've been looking at this for a few weeks and this looks like a great community to be a part of so I couldnt resist. Advice on the next mod would be appreciated but Im not demanding it!

Harpipes would be a good choice, if you have probably notice since getting the CAI you have the "turkey" sound from the bad BPV mazda gave us, harpipes allow for a dual setup (stock BPV and added BOV) there are other options to the dual setup but it is usually reccomended either way to have hardpipes. some type of EMS is also reccomended, i am saving up for one of these, since our cars run rich you can lean it out and save some money on gas and get rid of the hesitation that are cars are known for. (Split Second makes a great AFC so you can just plug and play plus it comes with the map specifically for the MSP and guess who has them at a great price ill give you a hint it rhymes with crotege tarage

Yeah Ken and Eric at PG were telling me about the split second, I'll look into that for sure. From what I've seen the hardpipes combined with an HKS are a must to kill the gobbler (for now I'll have to deal with the "what kind of BOV is that" question). Once I get the manifold and mounts dropped in, Ima be broke for a bit but I'll definately look into these mods for the next step. As far as the split second goes, is that a good daily driver mod?

ditto to the thread posted below the one im quoting, it is very good for the daily driver, our cars come from the factory running rich and this fixes it, will save you money on gas because mpg goes up

nice will definately shoot for that one next, this is the fuel and timing one right? Not the air fuel, dumb question cause it kind of sounds like Im answering it while asking....

Im pretty sure it is air fuel because it is listed as an afc
