non switched 12v power

Anyone modify the cigarette lighters to have non switched power. My wife charges up her cell phone with the car.
Any tips on doing this?

Personally I think those power outlets (or at least one of them) should have a switch on it so you can decide if its only on with the car or always on.

But I have not tried to alter it.

You could just tap the constant power wire to the ignition, but for god sakes, fuse it low like 2.5 Amps. A Cell phone is low power, but for sure some nOOb will try to plug a TV into it and F-The car up..
