I have a non flip phone. Its a motorola c650. I'v had a few phones, 2 of them being flip. I perfer the nonflip cause its not as big when you're talking on it.

Locking phones only goes so far. My phone has dialed 911 plenty of times while its been locked and theres no way to turn that option off on my phone.

All the phones i buy are motorolas. Nothing better than a mini usb port. Woot for free downloads!

Clay what service do you have?

I wouldn't buy a european phone because you wont get much performance our of just 1900MHz. 850MHz goes through walls a LOT better. it just works better in the US till get get out heads out of our asses on the 900MHz system

yeah, thats why I asked... T-mobile is your saving grace there.

if I were on T-mobile I would of bought a SE w800i for sure, damn the cost.

I have the kyocera slider. I luv it. Its so funny to watch people try to open my phone. They all think its a flip phone. I just laugh, call them dumb n slide it up. You should see the look on some peoples faces. So funny lol .

my dad had one of those... he loved it. actually, i think he had it for about 8 years before upgrading...

these are the phones i've used ... to give you an idea of whether it's flip or not.. heh

My first phone in 1996 - Ericsson AH630 - good phone, gets super hot when used for a long time. plastic flip cover too flimsy.

Motorola Startac - the first real and good flip phone. i remember seeing somebody on the street with this and chuckled... it's so big compared to today's phones

Motorla V phone - smaller than startac, but didn't have good reception.

Ericsson phone - i forgot which R version it was, but it was similar to this. it was an ok phone, but it was BIG. didn't really like the menu system or the options, but it was useable.

Nokia 3360 - Bar of soap phone. I've always liked Nokia's. great menu system. lots of options. good reception. this one unfortunately was killed by my gf when she drowned it in a cup holder full of milk.

Nokia 8260 - replacement for drowned phone. i think i had this phone the longest. great little phone, worked awesome.

Samsung 426x - my first phone with a nice LCD. bright, clear, good reception, good options on the phone. i really like the menu system and text messaging capabilities. i still have it, but is sitting in my desk right now.

I'm a big SE fan myself. I like the P900 because if you leave the keypad on, you can lock it, but leave the screen unlocked and access you phonebook from that. My mom and sister had Siemens and Samsung phones that were bar phones and my bf has a Nokia 6600.
