Finally!
Got the car running nicely, and finally took some time and cleaned it up.

After replacing/rebuilding the cylinder head and replacing all hoses and lines, filters, water pump etc I plan to keep it. I felt like selling it when it broke down a few months after buying it, but after all the work I've put in I decided it's best to keep it.

Cleaned it up and took some pics so I'm feeling pretty good about it.

RWD, lightweight, LSD, 1.8L FTW :D
Now I'm saving for some suspension work.

Eibach springs, Bilstein sport shocks, and strut brace should be on this order form.

oh, I didn't know. Ive seen some slammed E30's though around my area.

Maybe not slammed but low. You would think they are coilovers for them since everybody track races them. And I think there is spec E30 are something like that for them.

edit: Just looked, they do make coilovers for them

Hey clean e30. E30 FTW!!! Do you know where I work?

No, I don't know where you work, because I don't even know you. (rofl2) If it's NH it must be BavAuto.
Can you get me the "Homie-hook-up"?

The sad thing is that when I bought the car last year I bought H&R springs, Bilstien sport strut/shocks, all new suspension components like control arms, bushings, mounts etc, wheels/tires, and maint. parts. Basically $2000 worth of upgrades.
Then a water pipe broke = dump coolant = overheated = cracked cylinder head. (confused)

I got pissed, sold all the stuff off for just a small loss, and planned on getting the car running and dumping it off to someone. Now that I put the car all together I'm getting the E30 urge back and am kicking myself for selling the parts.

Of course, now I'm in grad school and don't want to drop $2k on mods, so it's a longer term project.
The moral of the story: Keep a cool head and think LONG and hard about selling mods or cars. Of course, I sold my STS2 Miata and will always regret that...

An //M engine would be nice but too expensive for me. You forget I own Mazdas, not a bunch of Bimmers. But if this engine does die again I'll seriously consider even a newer 6 cyl, or maybe even a V8. HA.

318is are expensive where I live. I was looking at them last week on autotrader and craigslist and they are going anywhere between $4K and $6K for good examples.

are the 1.8 is' better? i mean its a smaller engine an all wouldn't the 23 or 25is be more expensive? i don't know much about these, although i would really like to get an E30 or 36, been looking around and contemplating for a while now..
seemingly the 36s've gone up in price after the new 3 coupes came out for what ever reason... dunno how that works
