Hello All,
My Car is a UK Mazda 6 TS 2.0i TS Diesel 2004 Plate
On my way home yesterday my oil light was flickering ( not very much ) so i stopped at a garage and bought 2 litres of oil and poured this in.
Drove 15 miles and the oil light came on solid, didnt think nothing of it and the car was still driving fine,.
Few miles down slowed down for a roundabout and crossed, went to accelerate and there was no power from 2nd, floored it, and it felt extremely heaving and was only going up 1mph per few seconds. Eventually got to 60 in 5th and boy this didnt feel good.
Got home and checked the engine light codes.
P0401
P0106
It really felt like engine is siezing.
A friend says if the car is starting and turning over fine, which it does, then the engine cannot be siezed. The engine does make a horrid horid knocking/clattering/metal scraping noise.
I have read various threads in the forum and some people say it could just be the sensor. I know where there is a Mitsubishi Logo'd Sensor so will take this off later and give it a clean, but i cannot fathom how to check for EGR or a vacuumm leak ???
Please could anyone give in simple english laymans speak some checks to perform of what i need to be doing.
PLease do feel free to ask any questions that may assist you to assist me further,
Kind Regards
Quasar
