no more clutch ;(

I just got my clutch replaced under warranty three days ago. I don't race, I have no mods, and 16,000 miles. The new clutch is way better than the old one. No vibration anymore.

Well I'm new to the forum but i thought i might be able to help a little bit about mazda based questions etc.. I work for mazda as well as have a MSP, any questions about service/warranty work are fine.. just ask. aight then good luck and happy racing.. HA-HA-HA-HONDA

whats up djelement...so do you think my clutch would be covered under warranty? i have 11,000 miles on it and very little mods

Z66-HDSS. It holds around 260 torque and won't be too harsh on the rest of the drivetrain. There's pretty much no slipping the clutch, either.

Cool! by the way is that the same clutch you are using?

if it is my clutch that is out, do u think i can get the dealer to pop in the act clutch if i pay the difrence?

No, they won't let you "pay the difference" it's either get the warrantied (OEM) clutch or do the aftermarket. There's no "credit" or anything, although I wish there would be.

Plus the dealership is going to **** you on labor. They quoted me >$800 to replace the clutch with the OEM one before we found out it was the tranny. I had a mechanic friend of ours do it for $250 labor and $400 for the clutch (just because I overnighted it instead of ground shipping)

so yeah u have been through this. i haven't talked to the dealer but if they start with the not covered stuff what should i do?

If you have the money, I'd get the car back and take it to a tranny place BEFORE they rip it apart to check what it is. Once you get to that point, you HAVE to pay them labor if it's not covered. If you can afford it, just get the car back and get an ACT installed and then if it STILL doesn't run, have Mazda Roadside Assistance pick it up from the tranny shop and take it to the dealership for the tranny problem.

Well, like I've said before, mine was covered the first time at 12k after arguing for a few days. However, they're just going to put in another stock clutch. Had I known what I know now, I would have just gone with the ACT while I had that chance. It won't be covered again and problems pop up whenever it's most inconvienent for you.

well i just dropped my car off at the dealership and they said theyd replace the clutch for me, but that they would only do it once...which is fine cuz ill just use the stock clutch for a little while then get the act clutch like yours t3ase. i was suprised with how well my dealership treated me-they were like "dont worry, mazda wants to help you"-then i started crying. and they also gave me a 2003 chevy trailblazer for a rental ;)
