no more clutch ;(

Dealership should pay for the clutch replacement as long as there are no mods visible.. my advice is do what i did.. if you have mods and have a problem make sure they're either hidden or simple bolt ons.. other than that you can always bring an MSP to my dealership i got the hook up with the service guys.

Brown's Alexandria Mazda

703-660-8400 ask to speak to JON in the showroom.

ANY MSP QUESTIONS call me! :-) certified mazda elite salesperson.. as well as import tuner :-)

Not to be rude, but it cracks ,e up when people need things like new clutches. Its a wear and tear item, you burn it up faster then someone else, check your driving. Clutches go bad, regardless of how you drive, make sure you can afford to get a new one when it does go out. :D

Sorry bro, nothing against you man, I have just been seeing alot of threads about clutches lately, and this was the first one I saw to post this in. :D

it was at the coconut creek lou bachrodt dealership.

boostisgood - sorry i dont drive as good as you...maybe you should open a driving school to teach all of us how to drive like you

I'd love to agree with you but due to the number of clutch issues coming up now, I'm left to assume it's not just due to most driving techniques. Thanks, though.

I agree completely. Although there are a few defective ones that slip by here and there, most clutches are toasted due to driver error/lack of skill. I mean look at all the people crashing their MSPs....can't blame that on the car. FWIW, all of the Mazdas I have owned in the past have had clutches that have lasted for well over 100K miles. Even with racing an spirited driving, the clutch should last for quite some time. It all boils down to the driver and how rough they are on the clutch.

Yeah I've seen people feather the clutch even when going from 2nd->3rd->4th->5th. And people who downshift from 5th to 3rd without blipping the throttle..they just sloooowly slip the clutch....

Just learn where the revs drop or raise to and dump the clutch when it's near that RPM...it's still smooth if you do it right.

This is my first manual car...and it only took about two or three months to get the rev-matching down pat. Now I can up & downshift without even using the clutch if I'm lazy.

Well heres how i feel about the clutch, They gave us a boosted car. Thats a 170hp and most of the true HP is coming from FI. Its alot different then say a GSR NA engine. Don't you think the clutch should have been built to withstand higher torgue and slipping better. Its like the problem with the intake boot coming loose and the dealer asking if i was driving hard. Its a Turbo high performance sedan. DUH MAZDA!! What you think we just use it to get groceries?!? Honestly people, throw me a frikken bone here

Computer Geek, Mazda built the car to run out of the box. They did not build it with yourr modding in mind. :D If you turn up boost, drop clutch, power shift ect ect, your gonna burn up a clutch faster then normal driving. Thats regardless of MFR or car. :D

The clutch is a WEAR AND TEAR item. It will go bad, depending on driving habits, regardless of miles. :D

I need to start a car company. My cars may cost a bit more but damn would they be solid. Maybe i will start buying up old used MSP, STI, civics and build them up and warranty them as is but as is is amazing and sell those for like 23,000 or something. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm, *C&C Music Factory*
