No More Cel!!! Woot Woot

Well of course you gained som hp & gained back some gas mileage..

When the cel comes it causes the car to run into limpdick mode..which means the ecu is giving extra fuel..and running it very rich!

Chas:D

well someone told me i wouldnt see any gains, i forget who it was...(looks around for installshield for good answer)

I hate to be a doubter too, but how can eliminating the CEL gain power. I don't know about the "limp" mode. Maybe it exists, maybe it doesn't but the tooth fairy might exist too for all I know. . .damnit, I watched Darkness Falls! :D

when youre car throws a code it runs really rich....remove the cel remove the richness

Hey i am going right now to install my header....will be posting plenty of pics..

As well as some video clips..as soon as i get a chance!!

its been talked about a long time ago that a cel from a catalist code wont make the cars ecu go into limp mode, witch is the code you will get if you remove one or bolt cats. it will make it run overly rich and take away from gas mpg. well i guess you will see for your self what happens.:p

try a test if you will..... put on the header and not the mil eliminator yet, than wait tell you get a cel light. then
tell me if you notice the car running any different(besides gas mpg) from the point of the install tell after the cel comes on! then put on the mil eliminator and see if there is any changes from that point on! i promise you wont!

I have the mp3 ecu..it is known..or atleast i have been told time and time again..that when you throw a cel w/ the mp3 ecu..it will revert back to the protege fuel maps..and i will lose the advanced timing..so actaully in a way..i would be running rich...

Plus mathew even stated that he's getting better gas mileage since the cel fix...

I won't waste my time..leaving the car w/ a cel light...i love her to much to do that to her..

Even if it was runnin my car in limpdick mode...i would think that a cel light would cause the ecu to act in a way unlike it would when there isn't one!

* i also have the mp3 ecu, and didnt have any of those probems!
protege's all run overly rich that's there damn problem.

*right, i told him in a older thread that's the only change he will
get!

*cool, i understaind man good luck! you wont be disapointed.

*right, it would make your mpg go to s*** and thats pretty much it.

I have driven hundreds of miles with no problem. I also might have gained a bit after the ecu reset for the mil eliminator but i cant really say. What i can say is that with the precat gone i almost got 30mpg on a auto which is a drastic jump from 26 normally...i use midlevel fuel too...and the hollowed cat definately gave some hp and sound to my exhaust. Also versus a header sinc ei have my good cat still i can switch it back for emissions really easily in 2005 ..AHHA NJ

Hey..I have had the header installed for the past 2 days..no CEL...and i haven't reset the ecu..or installed the fix..LOL

Chas

well you shouldve reset the ECU so it could relearn. it took my about 175 miles or a 150 miles to get the CEL...some people (like one or two MAYBE) have not gotten it....how many miles you have on the new header?

thats prolly why...if after, say, 500 miles you still dont have it, then ill be impressed :D

Hey guys I installed the CEL light eliminator. Good product and instructions.

I currently am running straight d/p, my CEL comes on once or twice month. It isnt for o2 effiency code though, it is that the o2 isnt reaching specified heat range.

Kewl..Whic MIL eliminator did you use? Any MIL? Also...How many miles do you have on the MIL?

Yeah..I like the fact of NJ and every 2 year inspection...I will swap back in the stock mani when time for emission!!

yeah..I am not sure if it will come but i am ready!

what cel fix did you use? about heat range...mount it next to the exhaust..it should heat up to take car of the heat range problem...

Also how many miles do you have on the MIL/CEL eliminator?

Chas

yeah well I take the exhaust off when I know I am racing but yea there are two codes I know of for the o2. I bought the Apex fix for the o2 efficiency.

o2 efficiency
and
o2 heat range
