07 Speed3, Cosmic Blue
MS3, 400 miles on it, approx. 60 degrees.
This has happened twice. The first time it happened to my wife about 5 days ago. I had no problems with it at all.

I get in this morning and start her up. RPM's ramp to about 2K then the car dies. OK, I try it again, same thing. Turn key all the way off and try again, same thing, just a little more prolonged.
The next time I do it I give it a little gas to keep it going and that works.

I pull out of the driveway and proceed down the road.
2nd gear and she starts sputtering again almost to the point of quiting.
This was occuring at random intervals and speeds (1st & 2nd gears/ under 25).
After 1/2 a mile she was ok. I have seen no further problems today.

This is the 2nd tank of gas from a good station.

I searched and read the previous threads on this issue. I went and checked connections under the hood. Everything is OK there.

Anyone else seen this one yet?

take it to ur dealer(eyeballs) they will probably reflash ur ecu..

purge valve selonoid??? or maybe the infamous cold start issues us early model guys were seeing but i thought they had that taken care of in 05??

Dealership...

I am taking it back to them, just wanted an idea as to what it might be since it is going to be next to impossible to produce for the mech.

Thnx!

i have this same problem, i brought it to the dealer and it happened 1 out of 3 times they tried, but they cant figure it out and they phoned the mazda "tech" line and they said they have no known cases of this, so i have to bring it back when it is happening all the time or more often.

if they happen to figure it out please post to what the problem was, thanks

there has been a history of this, atleast from what i have read on here. i think, keyword think, that it may have been a faulty tps?? i dunno look htrough these forums a bit and if nothing else, try taking it to another dealer and see if they have more of an idea

I had the EXACT same issues on my car. Every morning it was just as you described.

After two trips to the dealer, hassling about an ECU reflash.... they finally flashed it. I dont know if it went back to the original or was an update or what...... but it has worked so far. Yesterday made one week, and I havent experienced any problems. Maybe just slight hesitation immediately after cranking, but none of stalling or lurching I experienced before.

BTW, my build date is 08/06.

It could be your fuel pump.

i had my fuel pump changed but hasent helped and i also saw that there was no update or flash, for my vin #, my dealer showed me, they hooked it up to the computer and it said nothing.

Is it engine oil problem? I used to have this kind of problem before i did my own oil change. I think the dealer's oil is not as good as some famous oil, also some of dealers put 10w30 instead of 5w30, that's something i heard from my friend.

i watched the dealer put in my mobil1 5w-30, it still wants to stall and im sure when it gets colder it will. but im switching to redline oil
