That's right folks. The husband took my car to the strip last night for the first time. I really wanted to be the first to take her but the recall hadn't come out before I left the mainland.
He made four runs down the 1/4 with the slowest being 15.8 and the fastest being 15.0 at 95mph. He doesn't feel he can get a faster time but I'm sure he can with a little practice.
I cannot wait until I can get to the track next year!!!! I'm so jealous..

thats slow

I'm aware of that. It's not a bragging post.
He's never driven at the track before. Faster times can and have been had.

1st time at the track is always the slowest, it will get better. first time at the drag strip for me i was getting 16's. By my second trip I dropped into 14's. racing at the drag strip is different than racing on the street, just need practice, patience, and calm the nerves.

Agreed, the track is a lot different. On the street, I can't launch at more than 1500 RPM's, the strip, if I don't launch higher than 1800, I bog. Gotta be good at shifting too!(drive2)

With a 95mph trap speed, there's a low 14 sec pass in there.

and I don't know what its like for you speed 3 drivers, but on my 6 all most as soon as I'm done launching, 2nd gear comes up REAL FAST, is it the same for you?

Yeah, he's only been driving the car for about a month anyway since his Cobra is down. I think if he drives it a little more and then goes a couple of more times to the track he can definitely get a better time. He's a good driver but my car is so different from his. He is also used to having a shift light. I am really curious how I'll do my first time out. I wish I didn't have to wait until next year, it's killing me.
