No Auxiliary Unit in 2007 MS3 GT??

:
08 Mazdaspeed 3 GT
My room mate and I both have first gen Mazdaspeed 3's, his being a 2007 GT and mine being a 2008.5 GT, and we both have our factory Bose head units. However, his aux plug in the center console doesn't work despite having the "media" button on the dash. There was also a sticker stating that it was removed by the dealer for satellite radio? The dealer charges $150 for the friggin harness thing. Are there any cheaper options? Help asap would be appreciated! Thanks!

On the '07 model the SAT and ACI utilized the same port on the back of the HU, so without buying the adapter (last I checked it was ~ $113) you could only have one of them plugged in at any given time. If your roomie wants both to work then he'll need to pick up the Mazda switchbox which will allow both to plug in and be operated normally. If he doesn't care about the SAT then you can just pull the HU, unplug the sirius wiring, and plug back in the ACI. The plug usually ends up tucked behind the paneling or tied off to another harness to keep it from rattling. Should take less than 15 minutes to do.

sure enough! pulled the head unit, poked around a bit and found the plug tucked away. plugged it in and BOOM! AUX SWITCH WORKS PERFECTLY! Thanks spots, cant thank you enough!

Happy to help. Now if you want to try and make some extra $$ you can pull the sirius system and sell it to another member. ;)
