So I am considering this as my next car project. This is one of many ideas I have tossed around here to get opinions... but I am really starting to like this one.
Let me know what you think:

2002 or 2003 Audi A4
3.0 V6 30 valve engine
6-speed manual
Quattro AWD
Stock Hp ~220 chp or 182 whp
Stock Tq ~182 at wheels

PES Supercharger Kit
Eaton M62 Supercharger
Larger injectors
ECU tuning
10lbs boost max
New Hp ~320 chp or 256 whp
New Tq ~267 c or 211 at wheels

These numbers are with everything else stock. No intake, exhaust, etc.

I like the options that come with the A4... lots of features, with a eye-satisfying interior and exterior.

OR... I could pimp out my rusty 1992 Ford Ranger.
lol.... that thing is a piece. I figured out today that I can move the bed up and down in one corner!!

If you want to do an Audi, I wouldn't suggest working on a B6 quite yet. Pick up a B5 1.8T (or an S4 if you want to spend some coins)

Even better. Get yourself a Coupe Quattro and build a 20V.

eh too old for my taste... I really like the B6 styling over the B5. These kits are solid and all 3 generations have never caused problems to an engine. Why do you say B5? I don't want to work off the 1.8T because it is small and limited. It can produce quite a bit with a larger turbo, exhaust, and all that junk... but the 3.0 can unleash power in a more simple fashion. Sure, same amount of $$$, but I would like a modded 3.0 better. Stronger bottom end.

I am still looking into the 225HP Audi TT. You can get those to 270 chp pretty easily and they are small. But I like the looks of the A4 better.

tasteful? wheels sticking out was tasteful to do back in the 70's. or ar you following suit with the 'big-3' and bringing back retro styling?

I would never do the wheels like that. They just did that for a picture I am sure, there is now way you can drive on that. I was talking about the front bumper / lip... that is all. I should have been more specific.

A4's are nice. Plus the tex's classified section moves so fast you will be able to find a lot of parts for cheap. Plus there are so many upgrades. A slew of exhausts, intakes, and coilovers available.

Staggered wheels are the hawtness on Euros. Rarely see an audi or a dub that doesn't look good staggered and dropped.

I almost bought one before my MP5.

Good luck and keep us posted. Are you on Fortitude?

Fortitude???

The A4 3.0 has hardly any mods... the 1.8T has tons. The 1.8T is shared among many (Jetta, Bug, TT, etc). The 3.0 has like 2 intakes avail... but many dual exhausts.
I would only get an exhaust at most, in addition to the list above.

I am on Audiforums and I have read through 2 FAQs (pretty much the same).
Thanks for the other forum link though. I am still just looking.
I need easy power in my next car. Like 1 or 2 mods that will get me good power. Some of the Audis and Subbys get great power with just chipping / ECU tuning. That is why I am looking at them.

1.8T's take chipping and tuning better than the VR. But I like both. The problem is the addiction always made me want to boost a VR. Now those put down numbers but will lighten your pocket book really fast.

You'll have an extra car show to go to. Waterfest is awesome from what I hear. Didin't make the trip when I had the Jetta. Will have to sometime though.

Dolphin Grey is my favorite. (thumb)

Good luck. Look forward to seeing the progress.

eh.

screw all that

get a Datsun 240Z and drop a chevy small block in it....

Now THAT's a project car (glare)
