news-flash: Smolten & Big_Ben are one and the same :D

Smolten is just an idiot (comparing an SR-T 4 to an RX-8 is stupid). Big_Ben does know what he's talking about even though some may not like the way he relays his messages :D

But it takes not one,......but two turbos to get it there.Quick, someone make a pathetic comeback.

You and Smolten are the biggest ******* idiots I have ever had the displeasure of seeing in type. The FD3S or 3rd Gen RX-7 uses a sequential turbo system which is meant to DECREASE boost lag. The original twin hitachi turbo chargers on the car are not meant to make huge ******* power.

Any true 3rd gen tuner know that the first things you tackle in tuning the car are the cooling system, fuel system and then a single turbo upgrade.

Mazda gave the FD3S twin-chargers to compenstate for real world driving when next to instantaneous throttle is expected.
Don't EVEN try to put the s2000 and RX-7 in the same category. The s2000 is an over glorified old womans car.

The RX-7 in STOCK form dominates the s2000. My R1 puts down 280 hp stock. Where does the leave the s2000? I know you are a little pissed that a 10 year old car design puts yours to shame.

The rotary engine is capable of spinning well past 15k rpms on a test bed. Some 12a cars continuously drive in the 9k to 10k range. More power will had out of the rotary design when emissions are met and driveshaft materials have become better.

When they start pitting the s2000 vs the R34 and NSX in best motoring, let me know. The 3rd gen in SCCA and ASP events has DESTROYED the competition in track events.

Remember G-Force challenge? Fastest Slalom at 72.4 fastest road course at 1:05.1 and best skid pad at 1.035 G's BEOTCH!

Why oh why did mazda stop making that rx-7. They could still be ruling them all.

Sport Compact Car said it best, "The Mazda RX-7 is hands down the best sports car ever.......then it blows up!"

Thats whay they stopped making it :D

The new RX-8 is the new in a line of hopeful rotaries. They seem to be wisely starting slow instead of having another warrenty nightmare like the last RX-7.

Are you not hearing me when I am telling you that it takes a turbo on the RX7 to beat the S2000? I guess you aren't hearing that because of your selective hearing problem. If you want to put the S2000 on a level playing field with a TURBO CAR, put a turbo on the S2000. If you want to see that result, just PM Terry at Spool and ask him the RWHP he's putting down. I'll go ahead and let you know it's around 350 at the rear wheels. Can your TURBO RX7 do that? NO.

And since when did I ever say the RX7 sucks. I just said that it needs to be turbo charged to give it any power at all. Did you not read that part? I think the RX7 is a bad ass car, but add a turbo or supercharger to the S2000, and it's bye-bye RX7. End of story.

A full turbo kit on an S2000 would put it well into the RX-7s original price range and then some.

The comparision of this car can add boost and then be better is pure BS. Its a modification on a different car. Mazda chose a turbo, Honda chose a rotary. Keep them stock the RX-7 wins. Modify them both with a similar budget, the Rx-7 still wins. All be it for about 2000 miles, then it explodes ahtough a Supercharged S2000 with out extenisive work can meet the same fate.

Droping the Rx-7's twin design for a single turbo and a 350WHP all high rev car is a spec in the rear view. Keep in mind Ben the S2000 after and Extra $30K worth of track upgrades still can not touch a vette Z06. A RX-7 with far less into it can take down a Z06.

Now that all being said we come to the RX-8, no matter how you look at it a big disappointment in the power department.
However I don't believe mazda was chasing power this time around, they wanted reliability and a solid engine to start from. Hence the RX-8. I have a feeling if the new rotary can prove reliable and remove some now established rotary = unreliable views then we will see some serious s*** coming from the Mazda in about 2 years. HOwever first they have to prove to themselves and us that it can stand up over time.

Honda on the other hand doesn't have that problem. Half of the honda badged cars will need a 10 guagew shot gun blast to the heads to kill them. Hence Honda had NO problem jacking up the compression for the S2K. Although it has proven less reliable then other modles as most perfomance cars will.

Since Honda is fighting no ghost in there closet its no wonder the S2000 came out swinging. They had no reason not to make it the way they did. Small engines, with high revs is nothing new for Honda. However a High reliability is a new stretch for Mazda given the problems in the last generation.

You are such an ill informed chessedicked cock sucker that has no clue about a god damn rotary arent you? Put up or shut up. Get some ******* dyno sheets of your S2000. This dyno is WITHOUT an FMIC.
