NEWSBREAK: Revised 'official' RX-8 HP ratings!!!

So you can get a s2000 for about 28k then add the vortech supercharger for about 4k , and just about destroy everything on the road.
No. But it puts the S above EVERYTHING in it's class.

And for correction, in this economy's used car market, you can get a low mileage model year 2000 or 2001 for $22000 or less, then add a $4000 supercharger, and be able to slightly hang with 405hp ZO6 vettes. But the ZO6 is too light and too powerful to compete with. That thing is just a beast. But yeah, there isn't much that is below 50,000 that will beat a supercharged S2000. A supercharged S2000 will even spank the E46 M3. No contest. The M3 is 333hp, but it weighs like 3400lbs.

I see no reason to buy a new car that costs 30K when you can get a used one with less than 25000 miles for around 20K and make it into a beast.

Just get the supercharger and woop some ass on porsches.
The S2000 already whoops the regular Boxter's ass. But the Boxter S can beat it by a little bit, not much though.

Thank you, I think people lose the fact that I am not putting down the RX8 or the Protege.

The **** your not, its the only reason you come here anymore. No one bought your bulls*** when you had it so you bought a car to feel superior. You hide behind it as if its gods gift to the track so you could take a superiority trip. WHO GIVES A s***!

You don't like Mazda fine, go to a S2000 board. You don't like the RX-8 fine don't act like a total cock!

The reality is every test done on the RX-8 did not pick it for HP reasons. Also the same idiot logic that you can just put a supercharger on it, applies to the RX-8 too.

The S2000 may be a great car, however if you gave me one I would sell it for something I like. there is nothing I like about that car, hence I wouldn't buy it. Does this make it an inferior car, no. Yet this is your logic toward other cars.

Mazda mistakenly put the RX8 in the class of the S2000, Porsche Boxter, BMW Z4 & Z3. It does not belong there because it doesn't compare with them.

The only car in the S2000's catagory that beats it is the Boxter S and the M Edition Z3. But only because both of those cars or modified versions of their original. The S2000 beat the pants off the Boxter, so they came out with the Boxter S.

The RX-8 is very much at home in that catagory and it holds its own just fine. It also beat the 350Z, a car whos faster counter part was also beaten by the RX-8. That means its not in the same class? :bs:

Fiber-Reinforced (FRM) Cylinder WallsVery good, no other car anywhere near it's class has this!

Needs it to. I know of 3 S2000's with busted rods on a totaly stock engine.

Ok, whatever, I'm not wasting my time arguing with you.

What are you talking about. What did the RX8 beat the 350Z in? I hope you aren't talking about any type of performance catagory. The 350Z beats the S2000 in all power catagories(0-60, 1/4 mile, hp) If the S2000 beats the RX8 in all those, how can it then beat the 350Z?

I'm confused, can you clear this up for me? :wtf:

There are always "duds" in every lot. Look at the MSP, there are AT LEAST 3 that have blown motors on STOCK engines. And lets not talk about the Protege's eggshell rods and pistons.

Are you getting to a point here?

True after you put even $30K into an S2000 it still won't keep up with a Z06 on the track, so what.

Another point: The Z06 could be bought for the S2000's retail price in a few years, so what!

Where am I going with this you ask, simple. You have repeaditly bashed people for buying a $20K new protege when they could get an S2000 for another $2K over that price. The same could be said for a new S2000. Does that mean its better or worse? No its a different car and people will buy it for different reasons.

So since each car has bad rods are they now more comparable?
Are you seeing my point?

Eggshell rods, Mine have been fine at 8 PSI without a aftermarket pump and a MP3 ecu!

The rods aren't even themost commonly killed peice.

Great, now if you could stop wasting your time trying to appear superior. Its old, I an most others here are sick of it. You have no intrest in discussing cars as a hobbiest only as a cocky child.

The RX-8 bested the G35, a car that actualy has been testing FASTER then the 350Z. Car and driver reading time I see.

So again we are done to magazine racing. Who cares?
It is pointless.

I don't feel superior to anyone,.........maybe except you. I only chime in when something interests me, like this thread did since I said all along that the RX8 was not what Mazda made it out to be. I'm sorry you can't see beyond the fact that I am speaking the truth, and the truth hurts sometimes.

Toughen up sweetheart.;)

First I was laughing at how pathetic the RX8 is.

I love how you only come with attemp a truth defense when someone calls you on this crap.

You have no interest in truth or discussion just insult and superiority trips.

You've gone down this road 2000 times before. I'm sick of reading it and seeing it splashed everyhere as if it was in any way unbiased or true. in either case it is not. You were once a informative member with alot to add to this site. Now youhave become just another troll looking to start fights.

Do everyone a favor and just leave the site. There must be S2000 boards you can play on. If you have no interest in adding anyhting positive to this site, then add nothing.

I dunno... The RX-8 seemed much nicer of a drive to me, as it handled a lot better than the S2000 I drove. Also, then power was smoother, and more usable than in the S2000, IMO. But that's just me. =) I like to have a little torque down low, too. 'Course, the main reason I'm biased toward the RX-8 is that it's a rotary, and I've owned two rotary cars before, both very fast, very reliable. The RX-8 seems like it's reasonably priced for what you get, it's not an astounding deal, like a Protege, IMO, but it's fine. Maybe I'm just too laid back. =)

Someone shoulda spent 12k on a rotary instead of 25k on the same company that makes my bad lawnmower. Actually, I think my lawnmower has more torque than an s2000.

You don't really mean that do you :) Big Ben has stepped on a few toes here, but I still think the S2K is a great car and I have to agree with a lot of his comments.
