Hello everyone, let me start by saying I was refered here by a current member named turbow. Im a manager at the local gamestop and hes a regular at my store :)

Ive had my RX8 since January and I love the car. Its a 2005 with about
27XXX miles on it. I havent really had any problems other then the heater control switch which I fixed myself ;)

However lately when I press the clutch from a stop to take off or in reverse I feel like a vibration or a rumble coming back through it that I dont this Ive ever noticed before O_o The car still goes fine and shifts just fine and everything its just a feeling I have that something might be wrong :( I did a quick google search and come up with a long topic talking about the clutch bracket failing or something like that. Can anyone put my fears to rest on this or tell me what to check out please?

Also being a 2005 I heard there may be a few problems. Where can I get a list of the recalls and fixs that I need to have done and how should I go about getting a dealer to fix these for me at no cost? Sorry if I seem a bit of a newb but this is the first non-beater coupe Ive ever owned and I want to take good care of it. I did purchase a 5 year 50000 mile warrenty from my dealer though when I got it ;) but its not a mazda dealer.

Thanks for your time!

~Mike

ANY RECALL has to be done through a dealer at no charge... just drop it off have them run the VIN and they have to do all the recalls listed..

as for the vibration its hard to say.. unless there is a known problem it could be anything.. possibly bad or out of balance driveshaft...

I know the driveshafts are carbon fiber.. is it possible it took a hit by a rock or something and has a chip or crack..

Thanks for the tip :) I will see about getting the recalls done but I live in a small town with no mazda dealers around here :( I will have to drive about 30 miles to get to one but it should be worth it.

Will they also be able to tell me if something is wrong when they get the car in the shop? say there is a problem with the driveshaft im sure they will say something cause they want me to pay to fix it right?

Also another concern I have is that I notice when the car is running and just sitting like in a parking lot or something I can hear a loud CLICK come from the engine bay roughly around every 30-40 seconds randomly O_o It sounds kinda like a relay or something of that nature. It dosent seem to have any effect on the car its just kinda odd to me.

Thanks for the tips :)

Clutch brackets on 8's are notoriously weak, but I doubt that is your problem. To check for this known problem, grab the clutch pedal w/ your hand and move it side to side. If there is a ton of play, remove pedal assembly and find someone who can weld. Beef up the welds on the bracket and problem solved.

The clicking is probably the rad fan kicking on and off, I can barely hear my fan but hear the relay all the time. For the vibration, motor mounts could be the problem, I'd inspect those first and go from there.

To find your recall/TSB status, any dealer can print up a warranty inspection report for you. This will show all warranty/recall work ever performed by Mazda on that VIN.

Couple of suggestions..

regarding recall, goto http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayOwnersHome.action

and sign up. You can either call or get your recall status here.. If you want to talk to someone, there is a number to call and give them your VIN.

Someone mentioned about driveshaft.. I highly doubt that unless its in really bad condition.... as if its that bad, that the driveshaft is causing vibration at such low speed, then you will REALLY feel it at high speed.

Vibrations are hard to determine, unless you could describe it in detail...

Might not be a bad idea to just go under the car and inspect everything just to be sure..
