Newbie, High Performance HELP

Cold Air Intake, Light Fly Wheel and Sports Clutch

I just bought a new 2005 Mazda 6i Sports Model 5 Door for $19,000 (Hopefully a good deal).

I need some advice in shopping for High Performance products. I was told that the Typhoon by K&N Complete Cold Air Intake would be a good start in upgrading my car. Is this true?

Finally, I was also told to get the Light Fly Wheel and Sports clutch. But was never told what brand and where would be a trust worthy shop (Dealer?) to go?

Any help would be appreciated.

AEM CAI. The K&N has the least power gain of all the available intakes for the 6i. Wagner and CP-E are also producing long tube headers for the car, which should be available soon.

I'd lay off the flywheel clutch for awhile...learn the car first.

Technically the best first mods you can do are...

1) Getting rid of the horribly bad stock tires
2) Properly breaking in the engine.

Thats about it. Tob reak in the engine, avoid hard starts or stops (no drag racing!), no cruise control, and try to vary the rpm through the entire range. (don't baby it, but don't try and kill it).

After about 5k miles, come back and start looking at performance mods.

Thanks. I appreciate that ...
