$187.50 plus $25 for boring from subydude.com. $850 total, plus $20 for a set of black lugs and a key.
They were bored from 56.1 (suby size) to 67.1 (mazda size). Universal is something like 73 or so. Those wheels can be special ordered from Rota in mazda bore or universal, and all they do is change the bore size. The catch is, they only do special orders of 5 sets or more, and they take 3 months to arrive.
Subydude is supposedly one of the biggest NA distributors of Rota wheels and they are expanding beyond selling just suby stuff. They seem to have no reservations about the boring process. Technically, there is less metal there, a difference in radius of 5.5mm, so it does have less strength. But from my uneducated eyeball estimate, that 5.5mm is an insignificant amount compared to the amount of meat left around the hub.
Also, as a counter argument, the boring process creates a larger surface area to spread out the weight and stresses caused by the car.
I will be keeping my stock wheels since I have the space to store them. I will probably retire my rubber early and keep that too (since 235's won't fit on the stock wheels), in case of a problem down the road. I've been looking at wheels since before I got this car, and the only other ones that really struck my fancy were the Ray's Mazdaspeed wheels. That's a bit more coin than I was looking to spend.
