Don't think the 8 will fit.

If it's any help, I just put on some 18 x 7.5 on my 3 Exel DL-46 and they fit just right. A tiny bit more and I would have needed spacers. Check and see my pics at cardomain. "Rick's mazda 3"

17x8 should fit with the correct offset (same effect as spacers). Whether or not they make that offset is another issue entirely.
