New Turbo, Popping out the EXhaust!

My turbo was replace last monday, picked up the car Tuesday, mine you my car is at 38,000, so my 3 year 36 month bumper to bumper has come and gone. My car started smoking at 31,000 mile, they replaced the oil with 5w-40 from the stock 5w-30. I should have complained that it smokes all the time, and still had my warranty until August.

To me the dealer temporary fixed the problem by changing the oil and free, so I am not going to argue, question is why now did they finally change the turbo when it should have been accomplished at 31,000?

When I started the POS at the Dealer, it was cold, and high idle, there was a decrease in power and pop out the exhaust. This car is stock, never a single modification. So back to the dealer, to get some more stroking. Fix, it right or don't fix it at all, it ran better with the blown turbo, no popping. Did they give me a new one, or a rebuild one? I looked at the old one they took off and would have like to have it for a day, I would have tore it a part and put it back together...WTF.

Dude,

Best to describe whether you have an '07 or higher. There are known issues with the PCV system, oil weight issues, smoking turbos, etc. for the 2007 MS3s. If the dealer warranties parts and labor for a year and 10K miles, you can take it back. Also explain the "popping".. Is that popping when under boost at WOT, or on deceleration/lift off? If it's on deceleration, it's uusally from excess fuel injecting during deceleration acting as a cooling agent for the cylinder. Dodge Neon SRT4's do that all the time. (pop on deceleration). Not harmful, at least on that platform.... part of the ECU programming for the SRT4. Give more info and someone can help out. Also, search the threads and check out the stickied threads for lots of info regarding all the common problems. Use the force...

Can someone confirm what cudaman stated about the injectors spraying when you lift off the throttle on the speed3? Other Mazdas/makes are programmed to cut off the injectors when you pull your foot off the throttle and come back on around idle rpm. The engine merely pumps air during that period without throttle.

It almost sounds like they flashed your computer or something in addition to the oil change...did you leave the car there overnight? How did the car drive once warm?

popping on deceleration, its called a back fire
excess fuel in the exhaust stream hits the hot exhaust and combusts making little popping noises

mine does it all the time, i think i shoot flames out the exhaust sometimes too haha
