I just moved here a few days ago from Hawaii and I had a few questions. I was really into the Mazda and general car scene in Hawaii and we had a great time out there. We did a lot of cruises and meets and a few members did some autocross. Unfortunately, there is no track out there right now.

How is the car scene here? I'm in the Ft Lewis area, but am willing to travel for some meets. Right now, my car is still somewhere on the Pacific Ocean, but it should be here on Monday or Tuesday.
So here's my questions...
*how bad is the db law here, really? (car is a little loud but doesn't sound like a fartcan haha)
*does anyone have a good tuner? I'm good for now since the altitude change wasn't much, but will be changing to a standalone system soon
*um, catless? is problem? will not be living in an area with emissions...

any general information about the area and about modified cars etc in the area would be helpful...trying to get a feel for the scene here

looking forward to meeting you guys soon. checked out the mazdanw site but haven't been able to logon yet

My car is pretty stock looking, but under the hood, it's another story. I'm definitely into performance...
Here's a link to my car for some background info:

welcome to the northwest.

not sure about the south but king county could care less how loud your car is. snohomish county, especially lynnwood is a different story. pierce county should be similar to king county i would think, never had any problems hanging there when i had my corksport power series on, a ticket in lynnwood was why i sold it, that and it droned pretty bad at highway speeds with the lack of boost.

no clue on tuners.. can check out this site probably though about that and learn about meets going on.. NW, see you checked it out already but thats were all the NW action is, not much here unfortunately..

as long as you dont have emission testing no worries to be had, my vehicle is registered in eastern washington with no emissions testing and has been catless for four years now.. not a problem. when i for pulled over for the cs exhaust, the officer stated that they were breaking down on modified exhausts, i just said i had an exhaust leak and all was fine. actual ticket was for going seven over..

very nice ride you have, love sleepers.

Welcome to Washington state brah! What island you from? xD(nana)

Hahaha! Yeah dude. Definitely check out Mazdas NW. There's the monthly meet today if you're open. It's at 7PM in Jasmines Grill in Federal Way. You should go. It's my first time going. Hahah!

I was stationed on Oahu. My car is still not here, so I guess I won't be there today, but hopefully it'll be here Monday or Tuesday at the latest. So keep me posted, and I'll be sure to come out to the next one!

and thanks blynd spy for the info and the nice car comment. i'm all about having a sleeper ;)

Waaa! No problemo. I'm not here often. I'm mostly on the MazdasNW site. But, anyways you missed a fun meet. Lots of awesome Mazdas, with mine being the weakest cause its a stocker. Had lots of people and cars. I'm only 17 years old, but its a really welcoming club. Good fun.

Check here for the meets and events:

Monthly meets are every second wednesday of every month.

Or go ahead and introduce yourself at the site: http://www.MazdasNW.com

Enjoy your stay at Washington and be prepared for the fall and winter. Definitely different from Hawaii. Hhahahaha!:D
