New to turbo engine

I have a 2025 Signature CX5. This is my first turbo engine. I have a couple of questions.
When does the turbo kickin when driving?
On a cold engine after 20 minutes on city drive I hit the highway after driving at 65 for awhile. I hit the gas pedal to 75 and noticed a lot of white smoke out the exhaust. The car has 1900 miles.
Do you think there could be an engine problem.

When does the turbo kickin when driving?

It is always running, there is no "on" or "off" with the turbo.

Sometimes new cars have residues from assembly that can burn off with heat.

However, it should be light and not "a lot of white smoke when hitting the gas at 65-75".

You should tell the dealer about this.

if the outside temp is cold then I would expect some white "smoke" when accelerating hard. condensation collects in the muffler and gets blown out when getting on it. as was said by N7turbo the turbo is on but is more noticeable from 2000 rpms on up and the faster you hit the gas pedal the harder it comes on... like driving in sport mode so I have more acceleration....
