GS300 gte/850r/04 taco
I been lurking on this site for three yrs that's right three..haha! I thinking about getting rid of my 04 Tacoma to get either a P5 or Mazda3 5dr. I want to know which section I should post and hang out to find out which one I should it get? Currently I am the owner of a 381whp gs300 and a Volvo 850r. So lets hear from you guys.

P.S
I would like a unbias suggestions please!

IMO...If you're on a budget and or you want a great project car to try out some mild to hardcore mods than go with the P5...If money is less of an issue and you would like something more "late model" or you prefer a newer Mazda for some mild modding...Go with the 3...Hope that helps!

I would checkout both models in person though...See which one "feels" best for you and what you intend to do...:)

+1

it depends. if you want to get some good honest power. i'd defenitely go with with a MZ3 or MS3, cause it's gonna be alot easier getting that kinda power out of a 2.3 than a 1.8 or 2.0. if you're more into looks, and I might be alone on this one, I'd rock a P5.

I'm into both, so that's why I now have my 3.

First off, welcome! Gotta love the R Volvos.

Next, my bias says why are you thinking of getting rid of a Taco? I mean if it's the DC or Extra Cab, TRD Off Road, V6, 4x4 or 4x2 then that thing is solid. I mean in all honesty you've got a kick ass gs300 and a hella nice 850R...do you really need another car? I'd assume having the Taco would let you haul the bike places instead of having to ride it and risk it. But that's just me.

Besides that, if you're buying just to mod it then that truck has a whole load of stuff you can do, even Supercharge it. I'm sure you know but just saying.

If it's for gas mileage then I can see that. I used to get relatively great mileage but as I say further along in this post because of MY cars mechanical issues I got about 15.1 MPG city on the last tank. I used to get 22 MPG city when it was new about 9-10 months ago.

I digress, I guess I would go for a P5 cause idk how they run and so far my 3 5dr has not the most reliable or mechanically sound. It is nice but the engine/tranny raise skepticism for other 3's. But go with Antoine's advice, drive them both first then make a choice.
Just my .02, hope I helped a bit.

We thank you fellas, my taco is a single cab, auto 4cyl. I need a 5spd car, lex and volvo both autos. I will go and do just that and try to test drive them back to back. I don't think that's gonna be easy, maybe back in 03 it would've been an easy accomplishment.

Yea then I'd dump it. lol I'm not partial to 4 banger Taco's...go find a Protege for sale and ask the guy for a drive then go drive a 3 the same day (which will be easier, of course) and get back to the guy you were "going to" buy the Protege from. It's kinda assholeish but that's what I'd do. then again we all have some asshole in us. :D
