So...ready to step up to a FASTER car? hehe, never thought I'd get to say that about a P5.

Get yourself out of the stang and get an import.

How much of a power difference between a P5 and my V6

Anything faster will work I guess

Well, the V6 you have makes 145hp and a P5 makes 130hp. But the P5 is alot lighter. I've actually raced a V6 of that year and it lost to my P5 pretty bad.

Yea, I think your right. Got a ride in a Protege5 last night and it seemed to pull alot harder than my car does. How much does the P5 weigh?

Around 2700-2800 lbs. Your stang is probably about 3200. Ever thought about keeping the stang and just doing the PI heads/intake that come on the newer V6 mustangs?

Yea, but...I don't know if its worth it. I have 100,000 miles on it right now...so if it just goes up soon, I might have to rebuild the engine, or maybe drop a v8 in there....no idea right now. I just have some bolt-ons, still plan on some more bolt-ons for now...probably just a throttle body and mass air meter. I'll have to wait and see. I'm just happy I dont have a automatic v6, those things are 17 seconds slow (hah)

Hello :) I see you are local. You should check out the Mazda Enthusiast Club of Va, Md and DC board as well as the MD and VA boards. We are a very active local bunch. And quite a few P5's too. :) Great car. :)

My friends gf had a 5 spd, the best they could get was a 17.2

Ouch....The best I can do is low 16's...maybe I could get a high 15 soon if everything went perfect.

Oh, here are some pictures of the v6 beast

I dont have those ugly fog lights anymore, and I'm getting some 17" Cobras really soon, so hopefully it'll be looking good.
