New to MS3, question about Idle.

Hey guys!

I made the plunge the other day to get a 2010 MS3 (only about 17k miles on it ;) ). I live in the Columbus, Ohio area.

Anyway. It has a Corksport SRI and some sort of short throw already on it. I noticed something weird with the idle though just today.

When I'm sitting at a stop light ONLY with the air on (it does not do this with the air off) it sounds like a compressor or something turns on and the rpms shoot up 100-200 rpm for a few seconds then it shuts back off and the idle goes back down to normal. Is this something I should be worrying about or is there a good way to fix this? The weather is nice enough to drive without the air on and the windows down so that's what I'm going to do tommarow but any feedback would be great!

Also, if there was a thread for this problem already i'm sorry! I searched around and couldn't find anything!

Thanks!

No. And that'll only do that when you have the air on. It's never bothered me because I know what it is.

Guess im just used to a quiet car. Whatever its a sports car I guess hahaha but if thats normal then **** it! Thanks dudes!

It actually sounds like the AC compressor kicking on and off, like it supposed to. It's done it in every car I've ever owned. Very normal...like the said before the idle adjustment solenoid is raising the engine rpm to handle the.extra.load from the AC.compressor.

@ Alvin- See above. It's normal man. If you can't handle it, sell the car and get a skateboard.
