2003.5 mazdaspeed protege
hi everyone i own a 03.5 mazdaspeed protege for 6 months already not to many modification only have a steed speed manifold, intake, throttle pipe, straight pipe 2ich,test pipe ,hot pipe, bov, front lip and thats it so far any recommendations??upgrading clutch soon what kind of clutch would you recommend???

Welcome. Got any pics? And is say next you need a split second air/fuel controller to pull all those mods together.

Yea you would want to get a air fuel gauge for tuning, The AFC comes with a stock map that will help your car right out of the box but further tuning will help even more, and you would need a air/fuel gauge to do so.

Welcome! Not sure why you'd want to upgrade the clutch now, unless it was slipping or something. Stock clutch is pretty good as is. If you do anything in the trans I'd say do the LSD. Maybe some PAR gears. Also what he said ^^^^^^^

well my clutch is o pulling right every gear . first gear slips fast and the rest of them you feel no power into it no pull..anyone selling a air/fuel ratio an aem brand??

Welcome to the club. How many miles are on the car? I tried to buy a Titanium MSP with a steedspeed mani in San Antonio about 7 months back but the guy traded it to a local used car lot for $2700! I believe it has lowering springs as well.

yeah i dnt know nothing bout that lol is rare whe i see this car o the street the only speed i seen was a spicy orange.i purchase mine like 6months ago in houston tx and it will be my 2nd speed to own..planning to paint it red soon..

Best clutch? It really comes down to preference. Other members would be more help than myself.

What's your car for? Do you have a lot of stop and go driving? Lots of people have said that the OEM clutch is fine up to a certain horsepower range. I'd recommend doing a search. Google with mazdas247 and you should be able to find some threads of gold that'll help you with your decision.

I would run a Stage 1 clutch unless you want to push 300 whp. I know a few people run the stage 3+ but I consider that overkill on most (>90%) daily driven Proteges. I believe Exedy is the stock clutch and it's a great clutch and many run Spec, ACT, Fidanza, etc.
Which kind of red do you want to paint the car, Mazda Classic Red? That would be cool, what else do you have planned? MSPs are rare these days but for some reason a stock Titanium MSP looks somewhat common to me, probably just because of mine.

yeah well the stage one would grip and give you a better pull than a stage 3?? the 2011 ms3 red that kind something diff for a speed protege.and i know there r planning to kepp this car as long as i can i would also love to purchase an evo in the future.

The stage 3 can handle more power and will have a heavier pedal, if you don't (and don't plan to) exceed the power ratings of the stage 1 there is no reason to get anything more than a stage 1.
